Does anyone know when gay day 2006 is?? I would like to start planning and booking a hotel room now. Any suggestions on places to stay??
i went last year... i am not gay but i am also not a gay basher.. in front of us was a family.. in front of them was two guys making out.... the little boy says to his dad.... "dad why is that guy kissing that other guy".. thats when i realized it........some people just dont care about little kids and are very self centered... that poor kid was soooooooo confused.. I'm glad i wasnt his father the kid couldn't have been over 8 years old...... anyway just my 2 cents.. there is no place in an amusement park for PDA"s out in public the sadest thing is the attendant in line let it GO ON!
Well that's the point of having a gay day, yes it is a bit self centered and humans shouldn't be singled out or treated special just for being a different way, but I go to cedar point and six flags all the time and str8t couples are always makingout....to me I think its kinda rude for anyone to do that infront of children, but it is very nice 2 have a day just one day where u can go to an amuesment park and not be afraid to show your lover affection
There's a reason that these threads always always always get closed. Let's not get into the merits of gay day again on another thread. Just drop it. This is one of those issues that will never ever never ever be solved.

Going on gay day is entertaining. I'm deff not a homophobe by any means, but it just makes me laugh sometimes. Once the PDA goes on, that the end of the comedy though, its just downright not cool. Especially in front of kids. They don't know what that means yet.

So then does that mean that Heterosexual PDA shouldn't be done infront of kids?
I mean, c'mon their people. And people need to start treating them like people. They can do whatever they want in public. There's not much to say, but that you should treat people the same wheater by race, sexualty, or gender. No acceptions.
I didn't mean to start a debate on what's right and wrong, I'm just glad that cedar point set a day out for the untraditional family to feel normal and not be afraid
Okay, but a kid wouldn't think anything of a girl and guy kissing, because the kid has a mom and dad, not 2 guys.
I think I handled that well considering my views.

The park doesn't have any involvement; it's just understood to be on Father's Day. *** Edited 5/10/2006 2:22:14 AM UTC by DBCP***

The park in no way officialy endorses gay day or any activities of it. Homosexual's just kind of picked it and have celebrated it always on fathers day. Honestly, I'm not one for any PDA's but especially when it comes to such a hot issue as gays in society. We have this debate every year and it turns into a screaming fest with the word fag thrown around A LOT. If your gonna get into this keep it clean and civilized and not act like a bunch of 10 year old's.
Thank you fastball, I apologize I didn't mean to cause any conflict, I just wanted to know the date so I can start plannning ahead.......thnx bro
A child has just as much a choice wheater to be hetero, homo, or bisexual. There is absolutly nothing wrong with homosexual PDA. And if you have something against it, then there should be something wrong with heterosexual PDA. You cannot stop people from being who they want to be. If two guys want to make out in line, feel free. It's not like there is a PDA rule at Cedar Point, and there sure as hell isn't a homosexual rule.
I don't see why people have to be narrow minded.
You should treat all people equal.
Don't like it. Fine, don't go.
Otherwise, don't complain about it. *** Edited 5/10/2006 2:45:16 AM UTC by Keith 2005***
I do not mind CP having "Gay Day", but on Father's Day?
C'mon. Get a new day.

The day is not sponsored by the park, CP Obsessed Freak. Gay Days is an independant organization that holds gatherings for GBLT folks in public places all around the country.
I'd like to know why people can't ask "Hey, who's going to CP on Fathers' Day for the gay festivities?" without somebody getting all uppity about it.
Apparently this community isn't mature enough to have a constructive conversation about this. It always devolves into "keep your gay germs away from me" and the like. And who can forget the "I'm not against gay people, but..." comments.
Everyone, gays and straights, get over yourselves. There's more to life than arguing about one day at an amusement park. Either go to the park that day or don't. Have a good time or have a miserable time. Either way, it's your choice. Ultimately you are the only one responsible for how you behave, how you react to things during your day, and whether or not you have a good time. Don't blame it on somebody else.
