Doesn't Holiday World usually refer to their coasters using "The"? I think it depends on the name of the ride as to whether or not is sounds weird.
But, generally speaking, "the" sounds weird when referring to a proper name. No one ever says I'm going to hang out with The Jason. They say I'm going to hang out with Jason... Ok, so they don't say that either. But, you see my point. :)

I love all "the" discussion on this.
We even had a debate about it in the office the other day.
Technically, "The GateKeeper" only makes sense when it's used to address GateKeeper as a roller coaster. "Cedar Point's new ride - the GateKeeper roller coaster." But when addressing it as a proper name, it's good to just say, "GateKeeper."
For example, "Want to ride GateKeeper without waiting? Follow me on Twitter for details!" Or, "The best ride in the park is Top Thrill Dragster." Or, "I don't know about you, but I almost wet myself on Millennium Force."
During our course of regular speaking, we don't say, "I'm hanging out with my best friend The Tony today." Or, "Let's go see The On Broadway later tonight."
Personal preference, I suppose. But it's all funny either way. You know what I'm The Saying? ;)
