Corkscrew, Power Tower, Magnum, & Monster/ Witches Wheel Crew 2011
I wouldn't call it a vibration, so much as a straight up bounce. It's almost like it's trying to flap its wings.
I've ridden GK twice today, twice at the beginning of June, and once on opening day (May 11.) Opening day I thought GK was one of the smoothest and most comfortable ride in the park...or any (major) coaster I've ever been on.
**Opening day: it was smooth and the restraint was comfortable
**Today: it was rougher than Mean Streak and the restraints smothered me so I felt every single little bump (which were actually not so "little.") I got a massive headache both times today.
Don't get me wrong, it is still one of my favorites at the park...I'm just saying that I truly think something was "done" to the restraints to make them more intrusive--or maybe the trains, themselves.
I've had 12 rides on GK, and only on my last 3 back to back rides did i experience discomfort. Mostly because We sat on the breaks for a few minuets, and my collar bone was sore. Other than that all 12 of my rides smooth. All depends on where you sit, and which train.
Well, count me in among those who have had rough rides now. Rode it tuesday evening and it was banging pretty good; add the collar bone pain and it made for an unpleasant ride.
I rode it yesterday and got one of the modified restraints Screamscape rumored about, it was an amazing experience. The belt never tightened, it stayed loose the entire time and gave me much more freedom to move round in my seat during the ride. While going upside down, I actually was able to move forward in my seat a little. I really hope Cedar Point modifies all the restraints because I went back for a second ride and it was terrible. My collar bones hurt so bad afterwards.
I thought Gatekeeper was smooth as could be for my 3 rides I got last week. Didn't notice any roughness?
Some seats bounce, others don't. I got to ride in a seat with a non-tightening vest the other day, and it was absolutely terrifying, in a good way.
Mid-ride, I said to my buddy (who didn't have the same fortune) "I'm so floppy!" - the slow roll over the entrance coming back felt very unnerving. I liked it.
