So on my day off I was in jeans a tank and I had my red Cedar Point sweatshirt on. No nametag, just the employee issued one that says Cedar Point. And I walked up to the games and an international says "No park operations, you not play this game" I said... Im not working, Im not in my uniform, why? he says "Im sorry i do not understand the rules either" and laughs..... I guess from the beginning I could have told him I bought my sweater of of Ebay and i was a guest, but i left it alone. Was I in the wrong or was he?

If I remember correctly from working there back in 04, the policy is that employees are not allowed to play games, whether on duty or not.

I work in the games area in 05 and 06 and weather or not ur on duty or off duty, in uniform or out of uniform, you can not play the games. If i was to come play the games off duty i would win all the prizes and it would just rip cedar point off. It is just an ethical rule.

but i wouldn't rip cp off, lol I'm not a games person and i know crap... Actually i think the whole world could be better than me. BUT getting to the point, i really don't see why ride op would not be allowed on their day off considering they are paying. Just a thought. But all that no longer matters, im a guest!

Because if you worked somewhere else at the park but had friends in the game department you could work as a team. Your friend could rig the game up to where you would win or say you won even though you didn't. It just keeps everyone honest. They have game nights for employees to play games if they want. It's a general policy that most amusement parks have.
Its that way between all of the Cedar Fair parks too, as a CP employee we were not allowed to play games at any of the other parks, I know, I tried, but they noticed my ID when I went to pay for the game...

I can see not being allowed to play in your own park, but a different CF park? That doesn't make sense. I don't think there's any way to enforce it if the person doesn't have an ID on them, and its not like your supervisors from one park in at the one you're at.

Yeah... but my problem was that they saw my ID because it was in my pocket with my money and all of it came out...

Whenever I worked certain games like wacky wire and bank-a-ball i KNEW when a person came from Geauga lake because they would go through all the stupid questions and then play it and win easily. lol no way to enforce it but its kinda obvious, but again i cant prove anything as u run away with my huge monkey

I'm surprised that when I went to Cedar Point no one said anything to me when I played a game or two in the arcade, I would think that wearing my Geauga Lake jacket would have been a dead give away.

I'm in merchandise, and yes no employee can play the games, at any time. I do believe you can play the games in the arcade, ONLY the ones that you don't win any prizes. It's a good rule, I was called by the games employees to play a game, when I was in plain clothes, but I let them know I was an employee. It's always best to follow the rules.
Not just CP has this rule, Kennywood also had it when i worked there, and i'm sure most other parks do also.
