I do caution folks who come to Cedar Point as guests and think, "wow this would be a great job." Because quite often, you are wrong. My buddy was telling me how he worked on games and how he was only allowed one bathroom break during his shift. It looks easy from your standpoint as a guest, but as a real person doing it, it is a lot of work. You make think it would be a thrill being on Magnum everyday saying your spiel, but would you still love it if you did it everyday for 2 months or more? That's a question you have to ask yourself and only you can answer it.

I'm 14 now and I plan to be a ride op or somthing at Cedar Point when I'm 18.
I know its not listed on their site or anything, but do you think they hire people to do IS (fix computers)? Or do you think they hire out(third party, contractors, etc)? Once I go to college I think that would be the ultimate job to have since I'm really into computers and rollercoasters.

If this is a question, "First year people can work on the big rides, right?", the answer is yes--as long as you are 18.
If the above is a statement, "First year people can work on the big rides...RIGHT...", then you are wrong. Many first timers end up on "big" rides.

I loved working ripcord but some days the customers are so annoying. They really dont know how much you have to do and how little you get paid to do it. People dont realize how much you have to go out of your way for them. Cedar Point uses their workers as much as possible. I was a ride operator and I was just shown how to operate Ripcord. Some days if they needed extra people I would be moved t the slides in soak city but usually you stay at your designated ride. Plus you get to butt pick and clean bathrooms- always fun. Overall though I loved my crew if it wasnt for my co- workers the job would have been far from perfect. Anyways, commons is a bit of a change. I went to CP right after I graduated and I now have plenty of horror stories involving the living conditions. Puke in the showers (along with various other substances), etc.. Anyways, I found out that living at CP for the summer definetly prepared me for the dorms at college. So its good practice- just make sure to bring shower shoes! Seriously!
