One of my friends told me that the reason that TTD was down was because someone snapped their neck on it. i almost peed my pants laughing, i mean we all know thats not true, but the launch house is sinking!

My favorite rumor about TTD actually came from here. Somebody said that TTD had gotten stuck on the top and they had to airlift the people down with a helicopter.

that would be sweet if it got stuck on the top. i'd try to get a rollback after a little while of taking in the sights.

I remember somebody was doing a parody park in RCT2, and they did a TTD parody.

Introducing No Thrill Dragster. Coming to some crappy park in 2003. Blah blah blah. The catapult launching system rockets you from 0-40 mph before you can say "THIS SUCKS!" But your vehicle is like no dragster on Earth. Because your 100 foot drag strip takes a sharp turn straight up into the sky. Only a lowsy 50 feet (World's Most Boring Coaster). Don't blink. Wait, go ahead and blink. I don't care. Because from the top you'll be looking 26 stories up on Millennium Force. Wait, do we have that coaster? And five stories down on..... the ground! But not for long. Because you're coming back down. But you're not coming straight back down. As the Dragster train reaches the crest, it banks and spirals downward into a near freefall until it reaches the braking system and rolls back into the station. Okay, you can say that sucked now. Instant replay. Launch. 0-40 mph before you can say "THIS SUCKS!" Go straight up 50 feet. Look up. Way up. Wait, no. Look down. Way down. Bank. Spiral. Freefall. Brake. Stop. Go ahead. Take a second to yawn. Wanna go again? Got the guts to be bored again? (Music plays a little while) No Thrill Dragster. The World's Most Boring Coaster. Some crappy park's 1st coaster (not CP). Race for the ground.

Yesterday at Soak City this lady was telling me how smart she was about Cedar Point because her brother has season passes and she told me the reason TTD wasn't running is because people keep puking and the ride operators are tired of cleaning it up.

ROTFLMAO!

That parody of the commercial has earned a spot on my wall now...that was great...

You mean like on March 27th at around 3pm when I saved and uploaded it? Yea, this was the first site I posted it at. Other people carried it to CBuzz, ACN, etc etc...

I think the funniest thing about the ride is watching 1000 people all gasp if the train SLOWLY creeps over the top, then they all cheer when it comes down the return side. That is entertainment.

The other great thing about the ride is watching all the first-timers right at the launch, hands up... down.. eyes open, closed... screaming, praying.... all of the above... and the always great "No! :(" when the tree lights up

Someone told me that a few days before CP opened for the season that TTD was struck by lightening causing all kinds of electrical damage to the system, and they had to hurry up and rebuild all the electrical components because opening day was in 4 days.

I was like.. "Dude, its open NOW for the press, so how did it get hit by lightening last night?"

His reply was... Wow they must have had all those parts on reserve.

My daughter also was complaining while we were in line to ride it for the first time that it looks like a stupid ride.... all you do is go down a track, go up, come down and twist on the way down... WOW... When she got off of it for the first time she was balling her eyes out because it was the scariest thing she ever been on... It took her 3 hours to recover and get enough courage to do it again.

At least it sounds like she did do it again. Good for her !

I added a few tidbits to my parody. Check it out.

Yeah she did! She rode it two more times that day. Once in the FRONT!! But it was just hillarious to listen to her for a straight hour telling me how whimpy and stupid it looked and we were dumb for waiting for it.. that "how scary can it be?" well she sure found out. I felt bad because when she was crying i was laughing at her for what she said in line.

There would have been more rides, but that was in May when they were having intermittent problems throughout the day. We actually got in line to ride a total of 6 times.

Someone tried to tell me that the reason it has been down is because a little girl snapped her neck on the launch and died. I'm sure the park would love that rumor to keep spreading... another person tried to convince me that the State of Ohio was filing a lawsuit against CP for advertising TTD and not having it open.

My friends still think all of the rides at Cedar Point are sinking, Top Thrill Dragster was no exception. (fustrating to explain to these people)

Then somebody on this website said they were considering taking the Top Thrill Dragster down. I had to turn off my computer and lay down after that one.

But on press day, Janice Witherow did tell the press(13 abc, wtvg) that there was lightning in the area but Top Thrill Dragster is designed so that it could substain a lightning strike.
