According to the Cedar Point website, and their policies, anything that is offensive on clothing is grounds for expulsion from the park. Although... I thought that Cedar Point has it's own division of Sandusky police? Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Cedar Points guests are everywhere from 1 year old infants to people in their 60's and 70's and everywhere between.

Cedar Point is a family park. Is it really hard to wear something that isn't offensive? If thats something you can't do, go somewhere else. There is no conflict of interest that Cedar Point is a family park and wants to keep it that way.

Park Admissions employees ask guests to turn shirts with offensive pictures or language inside out before they enter the park. It is part of the Cedar Point "guest dress code," which includes such things as wearing shirts, pants and shoes, no skimpy bikini tops, and no spiked jewelry (i.e. dog collars) or long chains. The clothing restrictions are to promote a family-friendly atmosphere; the jewelry restrictions are for guest safety (you wouldn't want to be smacked by someone's spiked wristband on a ride, for example).

I see girls in skimpy little bikinis all the time, seems to me that rule isn't being enforced too much due to all the guys drooling, geez, guys are such pigs :)

Geez, I'm a girl and I'm the most modest person I know. T-shirts are far better than sunburn any day.

Most of the people at my school would never make it past CP's gates. I'm suprised they don't get expelled for profane clothes.

Any employee can enforce the guest dress code if they see something that's really inappropriate. I'm not condoning running around the park and overzealously harassing all the guests, of course (usually CP Police take care of the dress code), but if you're at ride entrance and you see someone coming up with a filthy word written all over their T-shirt, there's no reason why you can't politely ask them to turn their shirt inside out before they enter the line. Same with wearing shoes inside Cedar Point...yes, our sweeps are awesome, but there still are things dropped from time to time that someone could get hurt from stepping on before it can get picked up; if you're walking down the midway and you see someone in bare feet carrying their shoes, stop and ask them to put them on. It only takes a minute, and it could save a guest from being injured and ruining their day.

ew....just think of all the bodily fluid that gets on the ground from other people i.e. spit urine poop (not bodily fluid but you get the picture)and then you are walking in it, and imagine if you stepped on something and cut your foot and got infected on that crap? gross...i know that's a little far fetched as i go barefoot all the time, but not in an amusement park. think about it.

To answer the security/police question, a large part of our security crew is just that: security. Another portion are true police officers with arresting powers and the whole deal. They aren't Sandusky police, though, they are Cedar Point police.

As for the Police/ Security. The Cedar Point Police Department are a DIVISION OF THE SANDUSKY POLICE DEPARTMENT
they have a guest dress code? that kinda sucks... i mean they dont work there freedom of admendment 1 geez... seems like we are kicking lots of people out or getting people extremely pissed huh?

hccstudent_02-I'm an advocate for the First Amendment, it's a wonderful piece of our history. However, as soon as you enter the park you are on private property. The park has the right to deny entrance to the park if you don't meet their standards. Read the back of your ticket. It's the same reason why Augusta National Golf Course has the right to not admit women, it's their right. As bad as it sounds, that's our government.

Not necessarily. It depends on how you approach someone and make your request. Most people are easygoing and will do what you ask if you're nice about it. We don't usually "kick people out" over dress code issues; if they were walking around without anything on I could see that happening ^_~ .

Just in general... When you work at CP, you have to play by CP's rules no matter whether you feel they're fair or not. You can express your opinion to your ATLs, TLs, sups and managers, but in the meantime you still have to go by what you've been told to do until any changes are made.

Personally, I have no problems with a guest dress code; it's just like going to a fancy restaurant or dinner on a cruise ship and having to wear a skirt or a sport jacket, only definitely not that extreme.

The dress code is not all that strict anyway, so give it a rest!
