Like Magnum....can anyone here (who was around in 1990) seriously believe how tiny the line is now???
It was 1989, but yes, I certainly remember the long line. It was around 3 hours on Memorial Day weekend, if memory serves.

As someone who has been going to Cedar Point for almost 40 years, I think its ironic to see posts from people taking about frontier town losing its flair and the need for more trees. I remember taking the frontier alpine cars over what was essentially woods as a kid. Its a tough balance between having a lot of rides and adding new rides regularly on one hand and having a lot of green space and trees.
I can also remember waiting in long lines for the Blue Streak and then the Gemini as a kid. And I know we waited in long lines for the Demon Drop when it first opened (I want to say something in the neighborhood of 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 hours but I am not sure). I love going back to the park with my kids (who are under 10) because we can ride a ton of rides that I loved as a kid and wait less than 15 minutes for most of them. And I still say that if you put the old restraint system in the Blue Streak without the seat dividers and seatbelts and with the one lap bar that flopped up and down 6 inches as your rode, the Blue Streak would still be one of the best wood coasters in the country.
Do that, and it MIGHT be an ACE classic, again! Then CP would havw TWO Acer landmarks at their park.

Well, if you are going back to the classic, I think you should also bring back the manual braking and controls. I took my kids to Kennywood a couple of years ago. We rode the Big Dipper (I think that is the name of it -- the first thing you do out of the station is go down a fairly big hill). The restraint system was a leather strap that had 2 holes in it (basically adjusting it for big and small folks I guess). If they can still get away with that, why can't CP get away with the old restraints on the Blue Streak?
Even with the new retraints, I think the Blue Streak is still better than the Mean Streak. I was kinda shocked to see the 10 Best Wood Coaster signs on the Mean Streak when I was there this weekend. They didnt ask me. LOL

Hey Jugga, I'd like to hear your rendition of "Puttin' On the Ritz".

Where's the other ACEr landmark? The one where one of them tripped and fell trying to run back in line for Magnum?

I'm aware that they could plant a full grown tree. But their past track record shows that they prefer to get smaller trees and let them grow.
Lately, they haven't wanted to plant any trees, only little bushes... yeah because a bush provides a lot of shade. :::rolls eyes:::

Looks like there's still some trees (and some new ones). Not quite as many as before, and there are no benches around them, but they are there (along with some new ones).

But look at TTD. They have that row of bushes between the queue and the maintenance road area (near the entrance). They could have pretty easily put a couple of trees there with no problem.

I was looking at those bushes yesterday and was wondering why some nice trees that could give even the smallest of shade weren't planted. Oh well. I do think its an option that CF might transplant 1-5 large trees to make the area fit in more and not look so "new".
Thrills Around the Corner!
They must not like trees... Remember everyone who predicted the tree by the Snoopy Boutique would be coming back? It's been 3 months and I still haven't seen it...

They need to take a page out of the book of just about ANY theme park in Florida (especially if they keep removing trees), where the majority of the queue lines are indoors or covered...and I'm not talking about those damn square screens that they have in some of the lines.
As long as they don't also borrow the page out of the Florida parks of having rides exit into gift shops.

Office Space was the first thing that came to mind when I read the thread title.
That's certainly an understatement. Nothing in Office Space cam compare with the amazingness of Eye-gor.
