Friends in Cafeteria

I was wondering, if I have a friend or two come visit me at CP, can they come and eat with me in the employee cafeteria on my time off?

if they are with you, they can be in the cafe with yo. there always strays in the cafe. and no one does a thing. i always see familys with a co worker. it'll be ok. if you have any doubts ask who is incharge of the cafe at the time.

The Employee Caf is meant only for employees, although it is impossible to tell whether someone is actually an employee or not unless they are in uniform. I would think management would want anyone who is a guest to buy their food from a stand within the park.

The Cafeteria food is good (well, I think it is) but when your friends come I think they should get some really awesome CP food, such as can be found in the Ice Cream Parlour and Toot Sweets, not to mention Dippin' Dot stands. ;-)

I miss those little packages from the cafeteria with cheese cubes and grapes. I pretty much lived on those at Cedar Point ;)

Over at knotts its a big NO NO to ever eat at the Crews nest/lakeside employee cafeterias when you're not on duty or just finishing/ending (so that on duty employees can get their food in 15 seconds). Definately no family/friends. But, family is allowed in the company store (they sell ice cream, sodas, and a lot of park and non park souvenirs as well as movie tickets/tickets to other theme parks), but it could probably be extended to friends since the ladies in the store are so sweet. I'd imagine its pretty much the same at CP since our employee handbooks are virtually the same.

We don't haver a rule like that (although it's a good idea).

Well, it is a good rule during the cafeteria's peak hours and days, but wouldn't it be neat to go a few steps backstage and grab a free soda, which knotts is giving away right now. It seems like crews nest (our cafeteria) gets the "responsibility" of finishing all the old coke stock since pepsi was introduced to the park. Pretty cool to grab a 32oz cherry coke on your break.

P.S.: Does CP have this thing that knotts has? All park operation (admission, rides, park services, repographics, and parking) "guest service associates" (employees) are placed on one of 7 teams, and these teams compete for points during their job (shift leaders hand these out) and win stuff in the end... Its so fun.

i like this 7 team competing thing. it sonds intresting. the only thing we have (atleast in park op) is attendance. if we are on time we get a reward each month, and then employee of the week, and for the very few employee of the summer. though not to sound cheesy(because i know can) i think are biggest reward is being to take part in making all who come to cedar pont(which is the greatest poark in the world) whether employee r guest have a wonderful, enjoyful, illumanating experience.

I guess I have to agree with Cat on this one. I do not believe friends can join you in the caf, but that can't stop you from buying food and taking it out to them. But the flip side of that is being so close to the main offices, I wonder how that would look? And the valid Po!nt was made about the park themselves wanting the GP to pay for the food what they should be paying for the food. Yes the (same) food is cheap in the caf but considering how hard the employees work they deserve that! I myself love the free Sunday pancakes-and about lived on the pizza there too :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

It is stated in the Guidelines book, Employee Cafe and Stockade is "for employee's only". Family and friends are not aloud in there and your not surpose to be purchasing food for people. I've seen them checking ID's in the past to make sure your an employee and I really don't think everyone wants to bother doing that (only in street clothes they usually check)..End of story..
