Raptor--The Water Ride

After driving in typhoon type weather Jeff (UCISECJKPD) and I arrived at CP around 8pm. My employee rain gear was again the attire of the evening! My goal? 26 more flights before my 700th. Crowd? WHAT crowd? Happily (for me anyway ;)) the rain kept most away, equating to walk ons for me! You learn after many years of rainy Raptor flying the many "tricks" Raptor pulls to get you wet. The trip up the hill, Raptor "pees" on your legs, once the ride begins you can pretty much pack it in, there is NO way you’re not going to get wet. When you would hit the 1st hill, the cobra roll and the zero gravity roll (did I hear another crack?) it was like someone was standing there and would throw a bucket of water at you. Seat 4 (yes, my fav) seemed to be the worst, so sitting inside was definitely a better choice. Jeff, Dave, Tony and Flora started with me and I found them sometimes just hang out in the Hotshots booth and watch me run by, eventually they headed over to Millie and Maggie. I did miss riding with them since they would have me rolling during the ride, especially Dave and his pinkie ;) My crew made this crazy thing tolerable for me, making fun of me every time I came back into the station - although only my face, hair and bottom of my jeans were getting it the worst, I was jacked up, there was NO getting around that. I eventually teamed up with Raptor Man Dave and off we went. The rain let off and on all night long, and thank goodness for the lack of wind and temperatures for the most part it was tolerable. I felt bad for the crew because I know despite the 2 train operation, they HAD to be miserable. So did Raptor Jo reach her 700? You bet cha!! :) Raptor Dave and I even got a reride which was classic cause I literally grabbed him and just shoved him back into the seat again. Then we got to "close" the ride, being on the last train of evening, and it was only us and 2 others in the back, we opted for the front for that ride. I told Dave I had the "connections" at the ride :) So total flights for Raptor Jo? 29! Lifetime total? 703! :) My last power riding session of 2002 a success!! :) The worst thing about the whole ordeal (besides the rain) was I got "tickle me Raptor" all night long!! You know you’re in trouble when you hear "attack!" over the mike when your train gets back to the station! :) Jeff had it easy though since he’s not ticklish, the funniest thing about that was when he told DJ he wasn’t ticklish, DJ started acting like he was punching him instead...a classic!!! :) Thanks to Dave, Jeff and Flora for riding with me, and especially to the crew for being my cheerleaders! Oh yea, and Jeff thanks for letting me use your the tally counter thingy! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

acted? he was actually punching me... not hard, but still... :)

Hey all... new to registering/posting to the forums, but been a lurker for some time.

I was around on Friday as well...

Since I have no idea who anyone is in real life, perhaps someone remembers seeing me... I'd be the one with the Atari hoodie on roaming the park that night.

When I rode MF for the last time for the season that night, there was a single rider I was talking with a little on the hill... talked about ride statistics, like height, etc., and about park additions over the years, and how far everyone had to drive after the park closed. I'm just curious if he's one of the members here, so thought I'd register and post.

Anyways, great site, very active board, and lots of CP enthusiasts... most of my friends think I'm nuts for how much I like CP... now I know I'm not crazy!

Aaron
