My past couple trip reports have been long-winded, so I'll try to be brief here.
Entered the park 10pm on Friday after a long day of work and a 3hr + drive. We managed to ride Raptor, Blue Streak, Wildcat, and Millennium Force, as well as a few other rides before close. I couldn't help but ride Wildcat since I was surprised to see it reopen after the light show was over...
This was the first time in over a year we stayed at Breakers Express. Why? Because I didn't make the reservation at Hotel Breakers soon enough and it was booked. Interestingly, a room at BE costs the same as a room in the Bon Air section of Hotel Breakers. I don't know if it's always that way, but it was this weekend. I was majorly bummed about that, and have already made reservations at Breakers for our next two trips.
Anyway, Saturday morning we did a first. We parked in the main lot and took the fabled 10-minute walk to the Marina entrance. Amazingly we arrived at 8:56 AM, and there were only 6 people in the Season Pass line ahead of us. Sure enough, we got on the first Millennium Force train of the day, though it didn't happen until 9:25, as the blue train had to be taken off for some reason. We managed one more ride before 10:00, but the two-train operation and growing crowd kept us moving. After a ritualistic walk-on on Mantis, we strolled through Frontier Trail, and found Skyhawk to be a walk-on. I commented to my son "We'll never be able to wait in line for this ride again after walking onto it so many times." There was a little kid by the fence mesmerized by Skyhawk. I found myself watching him the whole time I was on the ride. Sometimes people-watching is funner than riding. After lapping Mean Streak, we went to Gemini. While waiting for the front seat, the sky opened up, and rain came pouring down like crazy. We decided to wait it out in the dry Gemini station, but eventually we got impatient, and ran to a store in Frontier Town to buy a poncho. I told myself that if it continued to rain, we'd head back to Millennium Force for and intense rain ride, but as soon as I put the poncho on, the rain stopped. Well, to summarize, we took a couple-hour break at Express, taking a nap, and swimming in the pool, then got 3 laps on Magnum, along with laps on Wicked Twister, that front-seat Gemini ride, and a bunch of flats. Crowds were insane later in the day, I even noticed the Corkscrew queue overflowing at one point with a posted 1-hour wait. It was a very crowded day, but our spirits were high, and we had a great time.
Sunday we reverted to our ritual of entering at the Beach gate, mainly because we wanted to go to Soak City later, and parked in the Soak City lot. This morning we arrived at the gate right at 9:00 to find nobody in the pass line, and about 100 people in the ticket line. I almost felt unsafe, as I just walked up to the gate, passing people who were probably waiting in line 15 minutes or more. Oh, well... 3 laps on Millie this time, including the front seat for our 3rd circuit. More people-watching as we noticed an interesting family from Breakers Express who couldn't speak a lick of English but understood MF=fun. We loaded up at Midway Market. For some reason, they didn't have any Taco Shells or Tortillas ready, so I had chicken nachos. Then we tried to figure out how we were going to get to the water rides while we were so full we could barely stand up. We rode Skyride first, then after a brief walk, took the train back to Frontier Town. We did two laps each on Thunder Canyon and Snake River Falls, which were surprisingly walk-on. Thunder Canyon can be such a blast when you get with an enthusiastic group of people, which we did for our first circuit, and a bummer when you get with people who insist on standing up to avoid getting wet, which we did for our second circuit. This fat dude announced as we ascended the lift hill that he would simply unbuckle his seat belt and stand up to avoid the waterfalls. He did just that, and while he seemed to slip under the rader of the security cameras, he still got a wet backside, which I was happy to see. Next we headed to Soak City, which was packed!! We only went on one of the orange tube slides, and spent the rest of the time on non-line attractions. Renegade River was so packed we actually got stuck twice. There was such a logjam at the exit of the waterfall area, that we had to stand up and tip our tube sideways to get through.
I have to say that I take great pleasure in seeing huge crowds at the park. I remember floating down the lazy river thinking of all the thousands of people in the park doing so many different activities all at once, all on a quest to have a little simple fun. Wow, I love Cedar Point!
We went in the arcade in Challenge Park and saw some dude who said he spent $6 trying to win a SpongeBob from the claw machine. Well, the next try he won. He offered to win one for my son, but I said "Thanks but we have some quarters." I didn't want to tell him the truth that we have about 15 of them squaredudes scattered around our house already. Then the guy turned around and won a little white dog out of a different claw machine. You rock, dude! My son then took 2 tries to win Mr. Squarepants #16.
As we headed back into the park for a final 3-hour stint, we saw the non-English speaking family exiting, and heading for Soak City. It just gave me pleasure to see a family that obviously traveled from somewhere in Europe, enjoying the entire CP experience. It happens everyday, but sometimes the little things just stick out...
Now for a Sunday night the park was still very crowded. We saw Snoopy's Summer Vacation which was nice, but now I can't get that Elton John song out of my head! What else did we do? We rode Iron Dragon, which was broken down much of Saturday. We ate some tasty chicken fingers dipped in mustard. We rode several flats, and finished with laps on Gemini and Mean Streak. Oh yeah, my son won a six-foot snake at the guessing game... And I bought a big towel with that picture of Charlie Brown and Snoopy looking at the park with the words "What a Day!"
The highlight of the trip was definately the front-seat ride in Millie. And strangely, seeing huge crowds for a change was a highlight.
Low point was definately the fact I messed up and ended up at Breakers Express. I have nothing against BE, but I'm spoiled by Hotel Breakers and I just love being able to park my car when we arrive and just leave it, while we enjoy several days in the Cedar Point world. I was downright depressed to have to get in my car and drive a half mile to BE each night.
Gee, I guess that wasn't brief after all. I guess I just can't shut up when it comes to Cedar Point.

I wish I lived close enough to the park to go.

Wow i just created an account to reply to this. I live in Olivet and me and my dad went to cedar point the same days, we stayed at HB and also were on the first train on mf in saturday! Maybe i can remember you if you tell me what you look like. Me and my dad are bothg about 6'2" and my dads about 40 and he can barely fit into the seats. We both wore 2004-2005 Olivet state championship in basketball t-shirts that day.
MillieCrazy32, you guys stole my room at Hotel Breakers. Just kidding. I hope you enjoyed your birthday trip to the Point.
I'm this chubby dude with glasses who was wearing a faded blue MF shirt. I was with my 11-year-old son. We were among the last people to get in the station, then we waited for the blue train to be transferred off before we got our ride. I don't even remember where we sat on the train. If I had seen your Olivet shirts, I would have taken notice, so I probably didn't see you guys. It was nice riding with you anyway... :)

I'm going to Dollywood on Monday any suggestions. Remember i'm skittish of coasters. mostly is because of my fear of hights.
