Friday August 27 Millenium ERT

Cedar Point is only open until 9pm tomorrow August 27. That means the Millenium Force ERT for platinum pass holders will start an hour earlier.

I just noticed the earlier closing time. I was under the assumption the park was open until 10 on Friday. Tomorrow is the one exception until Halloweekends.

Wow! Thanks for that bit of info. I hadn't even checked, just assumed they would be open until ten.

I wish to do a millennium ERT!!!!!:(

All I have done this year for ERT's were going on a rainy thursday last month with two friends and we waited and waited and waited in the shop for STR to quit flooding, then found out it was a bonus, but maverick was open for ERT. My friend couldn't ride because of her condition, so we went to Millennium and did a double stay-in-the-station ride.

Got back not to long ago from the event. It was quite the clusterfrag...I would guess there were 400 or more people lined up outside MF's entrance, waiting for the remaining leftover line of regular guests to work their way through the ride before letting the passholders in.

Ava and I waited until about 9:30, and they still hadn't begun the ERT. She was yawning (she actually had school today), so we bagged it and headed home.

Did get a chance to talk to Tony and Tyler for a couple minutes. Nice guys, natch. :)

After Dragsters this year, I vowed never to go to one ever again. SOOOOO many people and SOOOOOO many complaining about NOTHING. I can barely stand just being around the people. It's even worse for Tony since he has to put up with them.

You've got nerves of steel Tony, nerves of steel. :)

Well, the benefits do say that the ERT might not start until up to 45 minutes after close. So hopefully they got it started by 9:45.

As for the people, if Ensign's estimate is right...

1600 (max capacity) / 400 = 4 rides

But, that probably is ideal, so maybe 3 rides for each person in one hour. A wait time of 15-20 minutes.

Yeah, I think that these events may be victims of their own popularity. They're so successful, it's just not as worth it. It's probably easier just to try to get to the park on a weekday (especially early in the season) during morning ERT.

BooBuzz, however, may be a different story. But just to be on the safe side, I advise nobody try to go to that event, either... ;)

We went to ERT last night. The line was long but it went pretty fast. Got 4 rides in after it started about 9:40. Don't understand the complaints. How often during regular park hours do you get four rides in an hour? Besides, you meet great people in line who are there for the same reason you are and enjoying every minute. Saw some regulars we see every Sunday morning plus faces we've seen on and off all summer. I for one had a great time!

I was there too. It's not a standard ERT like an enthusiast event. But still lots of fun. It's more rides than the Average Joe Platinum Pass holder is normally able to get. If you feel last night wasn't sufficient, go to Boo Buzz.

My problem is that I've been spoiled by much more sparsely attended events, such as the first ride night for Maverick three years ago. If I remember correctly I picked up 10 or 11 rides in that hour. Another good one was Millennium Mania, which ran in September of both 2000 and 2001. And not that I begrudge the park the success it's having with these things -- more power to 'em.

If you go durring the week in may, it's a walk on.:)

Shhhh...Don't tell anyone.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.

That's my prime time to visit!

We were there last night for ERT, squeezed in 4 rides and missed a 5th by less than 3 minutes. Don't understand why anyone would complain about it. Not sure what they expected in an ERT for Millennium Force. Like Chuck Wagon says, the benifits page says ERT starts after the regular ride line is done. Not to mention, I'll never turn down one ride on MF in a day, let alone 4 in an hour.

If anyone thinks nighttime ERT is bad, you should be there for morning ERT. We got in line for Maverick at 9:20, it was a 1.5 hour wait. I think more resort guests know about ERT now so they go to it. If the Park added Magnum-XL-200 to the list, it would really help make it seem like ERT is worth it. Opening Camp Snoopy up would also help the winning parents with young children who use to resort gate. I remember when I could get 4-7 laps on Millennium Force, now (if I am lucky) I can get 2 in.

I was also at the park last night for the Millennium ERT and I think people should be thankful for the fact the park will keep the ride op's for an extra hour of pay and Tony Clark and Tyler also put in the time to stay for the event. I heard someone telling Tony that the line closed 3 1/2 min early compared to the time on his watch. I thought, a simple thank you for keeping the ride open, might have been nice! I got 4 rides during the ERT, saw a lot of friends, and even met a few new ones! I will have to agree with Ensign on one of the best events the park has ever had was MillenniumMania!

With some guests, you just can't win. You just have to learn to grin and bear it (and then have a great post-game discussion after the guests leave at the end of the day!).

For morning ERT I have a pretty standard routine... Run to Maverick for a first ride, jog to Millennium Force and wait about 10 minutes. Jog to Raptor and get in about 6 laps on it before 10AM. Its completely exhausting, but well worth it. I typically go to Magnum next considering it is always a literal walk on until 11:30.

My morning routine is to sleep in as late as I can, get to the park, and go for the shortest lines.

I am done waiting in the 2 hour lines for a coaster I have been on 1000 times.
