Friday 5/21

Today started out fairly well... wasn't very cold... all day it was almost the perfect temperature. I got in the season pass line to get in. They opened the gates at approximately 9:30 and I started running towards Dragster. When I came to the blue fence people where asking why they couldn't get through when I went through they weren't very happy lol... that’s how it goes somedays.

When I got to Dragster it had not opened yet but since it was currently down they were handing out Freeway stamps for 1-2. Then I went and got in the Dragster line that was forming outside the gate. We saw a train get launched then it rolled back but then launched again and made it over. Then another train launched I don’t recall exactly but it rolled back too I believe then after it was launched again it made it over. Then every train after that made it over. Soon after they opened the gates and let us in. It was only a 10 minute wait from where I was standing. Got the second train last seat... which was actually 2 seats up. And trains seemed to be launching great... they even had about 1 minute intervals. Every time I walked buy today it seemed the same way.

Then after this I headed up to the Main arcade to see if they had fixed the DDR Machine yet. Yep it was working... I also found out the other one should be back sometime in June whenever the get it back from New Jersey... its getting a well needed repair I guess. Then I played that for a while and then I headed for Millennium Force.

The Force was 30 mins wait or around there. They were stacking trains again today. My buddy almost didn’t get to ride because that new stupid 1" of Black belt below the red part of the belt rule. He was able to get enough slack. It was the most intense Millennium Force ride I ever had my eyes were watering like no other... and I almost blacked out at the bottom of the hill I've never done that before.

Next, we just took a nice walk around the park sitting down here and there. Stopped for some burgers, and then walked around and saw that is was 1 so we thought we would head to Dragster for the Freeway stamp. Got in the freeway line and even the freeway line was backed up, The wait I believe was 2 1/2 hours I waited approximately 30 minutes. The ride was running well still with 1 minute intervals and all trains clearing the top.

After this we headed back down towards the Arcade took a walk around the Wicked Twister area sat for a while. Just watching people walk buy. The we went into the arcade to play some more DDR. Then sometime don’t know when... it began to rain. It came on very fast... like one minute it was sunny the next it was black. So we just stayed in the arcade and there was a huge crowd of people watching us play DDR. There were like 6 or so people playing. It was fun. So we did that until the rain stopped. Then headed over to the Midway Buffet for some food. And found out they don’t give the discount for Joe Cool Club anymore... that sucked. So after we ate we ran back into the arcade but everyone had left buy this time it was already 7:30 we walked around the park a while. Then headed home at 7:55. All and all it was a great day!! My legs are killing me from all the DDR. I hadn't played hardcore in a while. But if any of you saw me give me shout maybe I saw ya too :-)... Ok im done rambling now.

Hey man I saw you there. I was standing about fifteen feet away when you were on DDR.

I am glad you had a good day. I was there yesterday too and it wasn't as fun but still turned out good in the end. I arrived at the park at 1:00 and rode Raptor. The wait was estimated at 1hr 45min but ended up being about 1hr and 15min. After that, we went to TTD. The wait was 1hr 15min but we only waited 30min and were at the ramp. Then, the ride was closed due to weather. It was only a cloudy and we didn't know what the weather problem was. You couldn't see the top of TTD because it was covered by clouds. After about 10min witing for it to reopen (it was about 3:00), a huge black cloud came over us and it got really dark. Everyone in line started running for their lives, screaming and panicking. It wasnt a big deal, just a black cloud. But then it started to pour. The rain came down in buckets. We were getting soaked. We ran to Coasters where the place was jammed with people. My friend and I got some food and then met up with some people we knew there and ran to Johnny Rockets. We ate there for about 2hrs and then the rain looked like it was letting up. So, we didnt have anything to do so we walked to Wicked Twister. The Chaos and Troika were running so we rode those. (I miss riding those two when they were in the wooded area that has now become the Drag Strip). Then I asked a WT ride-op when it would open since it stopped rainging and he said 5min. So we were first in line and first to ride WT when it opened. Then, we decided to run to MF and be first in line for that when it reopened. When we got there there was a huge line outside the gate. It hadn't opened yet. We spotted a gap in the line near the front where there were some benches. We sat down on the benches and when they started letting people into the line, we casually joined into the line and only waited about 10min to ride. Then we rode Magnum front car, Gemine blue (orange wasn't running). TTD hadn't reopened yet and each test run, the train made it to the very top and almost made it but fell back. So, we rode Power Tower down and then Demon Drop and then called it a day. It wasn't the best CP experience I have had but turned out fun. Although it rained for 3hrs, I am surprised how many rides we jammed in in the last 2hrs we were there.

Race For The Sky!

It was quite a sight seeing all the people dash and scream down the midway as if there was a giant meteor coming for the point. Would've been nice to get a picture of TTD and Mantis sticking up in front of that big dark cloud, it looked pretty cool.
I have a question...do they really open the gates at 9:30? Because on the CP website it says 10:00. Also, do they hand out freeways for dragster at 1:00 now? Because there is a thread on here about freeway and they were all saying that dragster's is handed out at 2:00. And, is it more worth it do you think to get a freeway for dragster rather than wait in line? and why or why not. thanks *** Edited 5/22/2004 6:47:47 PM UTC by dertsanchez***
Yes the gates do open at 9:30. They hand out freeway at 2 and sometime joe cool club and resort guests who get in early get a freeway stamp if dragster is not up. and yes freeweay is worth it. There was a line of people waiting for freeway to start lol. It makes the wait much shorter
