Free time for non-drinkers

So on the facebook pages I'm reading a lot about people hitting up the bars and clubs and getting wasted in their off time. Since I don't drink, I was wondering what else people do if they have the night off(and it's a non-ride night). What else is big around there?

As much as it appears like everyone gets drunk every night, that's not the case. A lot of people DO go to Louie's on Sunday and Thursday, but anyone 18+ can get in on those nights. And honestly, most of the time, people just want to go home after work and just go to bed.

In my spare time, I'd usually go to the park and ride a few rides, go out to eat with friends, etc. You'll more than likely be tired in the evenings after a long day of work and will probably just want to rest.

In my days off I'd go fishing out at marblehead.

What's Louie's? And where is it?

it's across the street from the employee parking lot by housing

The number of people working at the park who do NOT go to Louie's (or any other bar) far outnumbers those who do.

Honestly depending on where you work, you may not have a lot of free time. I spent my time getting things done like laundry, grocery shopping or catching up on sleep. Occasionally going to the park and riding rides.

If your standing at the tip of the peninsula by mean streak, looking out across the bay... the land over there is marblehead. There's really nice fishing and pick-nick areas out by the lighthouse.

There's plenty to do in Sandtown besides drink. There's 2 bowling alleys within walking distance of Commons, library downtown, Bike Week in June, Sheldon's Marsh is a good park to walk through, as well as the Castalia Quarry.

Being a CP employee, you may even consider taking a day and going to King's Island or Michigan's Adventure. KI is about 3 hours away, and MA is about the same distance as well.

Are there any movie theaters nearby?

And Michigan's Adventure is more like 6 hours away and compared to CP, totally not worth it lol

Kennywood is actually closer to CP than KI is... It's super cool :)

Yes there are movie theaters nearby, but not really in walking distance. It helps to have a car with you on your off days or free time. I could never put up with waiting for the bus.

My cousins live in Weirton, WV, and they like Kennywood. I have never been there though. But, Kings Island is pretty cool; (if you like smaller parks). Plus with Cedar Point ID, KI is free :)

If you don't mind spending a little extra cash, a trip over to the islands (Kelley's Island, or Put-In-Bay) is usually a good time, especially if you take a friend or two. However, do NOT stay past 8pm. That's when everyone hits the bars and ends up getting drunk.

I have stayed past 8PM at Kings Island several times and it has been fine. Plus you don't want to miss a night ride on the Beast!

I think they meant that Put In Bay and Kelley's Island people get drunk.
