I remember going to soak city, spending time at the beach, riding rides at the park, spending lots of money at that expensive-ass mall, seeing movies, going clubbing, going to the library, and sometimes just sleeping when I was very tired. I'm making it a point to do those same things this summer.
I would ride the rides if the lines weren't too long. Go to the beach, the library, and the park across the bay. Going on the trips they offer for employees to Niarga Falls and Pelee Island always looked fun, but since my crew was understaffed it was hard to plan a day off in advance in order to sign up for those trips.
Ride rides, just walk around the park (its actually relaxing sometimes), do laundry, go to the store, sleep, read, watch a lil tv, movies, Employee Trips. There is more to do than you think.. Last year i thought i was going to be bored to death on my free time, but i quickly learned that there is so much more to do than ride rides. (even though that is the highlight of the day!!)

On your days off, are there usually a lot of people that you would know that also have that day off so you can get a group to do something? Or is it just basically yourself doing things on your days off?
i did a lot of sleeping on my days off... sleep till about 4.. wake up do laundry..go back to sleep till the roomates came in and then went to louies or waited till friends got off work and then recked havoc in walmart...they loved us there
Sometimes your friends from other rides/departments have the same days off so you can hang out. Even if you don't have the same day off, they might be working a split, so you can hang out from 1:30-6

I talked to a lot of people that work there and it seems there is a lot to do in your free time, I hear that they have a bus that can take you to the nearby mall or down to the bars or you can go to the park in your spare time, if anyone knows about some good places to bar hop let me know I hear Louies is the place to be to be seen, but if anyone is interested in hanging out to let me know, or contact me I process on April 25th c ya and talk to you soon
sounds like there isn't a shortage of things to do in your free time anyway which is cool - roughly what amount of time would you get off a week like - is it a day just or what? I know it'll be different for every department but just looking for a general idea cos i'm trying to figure out if i'll have time to go stay with friends who live a few hrs away!
you can always request more then a day off, if you area has the staff, you'll get it off. Usually i had anywhere to a full day to 2 1/2 days off as a lifeguard over at soak city. Depended on how busy the park was, weather, current staffing levels ect.
You guys are pathetic.

You're pathetic because that's locker room talk, not something you post in public, especially considering you're supposed to be in a leadership role. I'd fire your ass before you ever processed in. There is such a thing as sexual harassment, even at Cedar Point. Don't be a moron.
