Hey guys, I'm a newbie at Cedar Point this year (ayyo to the Kiddy Kingdom crew) and I have some last minute questions before I process in May 3rd.
I live kinda far away in northern Michigan and am wondering if I should bring my microwave and mini-fridge. I really wanna try to live in an apartment setting, but understand that it's first come, first serve and that the dorms are cramped. I just really don't wanna eat a buncha crap all summer and would like to be able to keep some fruits and vegetables in my room.
Also, it seems weird to me that they only ask you to bring white shoes. Just clarifying, Cedar Point gives you pants and a shirt as a uniform?
So I guess my questions are..
1. Is it smart to bring a microwave and mini-fridge?
2. Does Cedar Point give you pants and top as a uniform?
Thank you and I can't wait to meet you guys this summer!
You can get a microwave and fridge in the dorm or appts, I would recommend a fridge at minimum regardless
All needed items for your uniform are supplied, extra things such as outerwear or accessories are available for purchase.

If you have a microwave bring it if you'd like..I believe those are allowed in the dorms I can't remember. The commons store does have a crappy old microwave. I never needed anything that required a microwave and honestly I barely spent time inside of my room other than sleeping and other things, that was it so I didn't see a need for it.
But def. bring a fridge, with booze, you won't regret that decision.

You should be able to access your associate guidelines through your jobnet page. That has the rules and suggestions and should answer your questions. Current housing rules forbid bringing your appliances other than a small dorm fridge. Even a coffee maker is a no-no. If you get in an apartment (Commons or Bayside) you will have a regular fridge and stove. No word yet on the new building in Commons, but it looks more like the dorms than the apartments. Fact is, because you don't know where you will be living it is impossible to know for sure whether it will be worth your while to bring a mini fridge. If you already own one, it may be okay to bring it. If you don't need it you can always sell it. If not, wait until you get here and you can buy one in town. We've got Best Buy, Lowes, etc.
If you really need to use a microwave, there will be some around.
The Commons store appears to be no more, and the Rec Center now has a store and quick serve restaurant.
As far as uniforms, they have even started issuing belts this year - so shoes may be the only thing you need to bring.
Good luck!
