Flying coasters?

What does everyone out there think of flying coasters?
Personally I think they are to tame for me, I would rather ride something else like raptor or the Dominator

The only one I've been on is SuperFireXManUltimateHawkFlight at Kings Island. Hated it. It just wasn't a fun coaster to ride, and I hope that Cedar Point never bothers wasting money on buying a new one.

The only flyer I have been on was FireHawk at Kings Island. I wasn't impressed. We were at KI three days, everything was pretty much a walk on all three days and we only rode FireHawk the one time. I was really, really unimpressed.

There are only a few manufacturers of flying coasters. The 3 most prominent are Vekoma, B&M, and Zamperla...

Typically the B&M are the most popular with enthusiasts, followed by Vekoma, and then Zamperla. Personally, I have been on Vekoma and B&M models, and MUCH prefer the B&M flyers. I would never ride a Vekoma flying coaster again, but would ride a B&M again. Although I will say that I would take a traditional coaster in a heartbeat over a flying coaster.

I would be happy if there were no more flying (or stand-up) coasters ever built again...

I would absolutely love to see a flying coaster at the Point, but only if it's of the B&M variety. I've ridden all of the flyers in the US save for Manta and I'd agree with the poster above that B&M flyers are much better than their Vekoma counterparts. If you haven't ridden Tatsu, however, you should probably reserve judgment on how good flying coasters can be until you do. That ride is just spectacular.

My favorite Flying Coaster is the Norman Bartlett/Aeroaffiliates version at Kennywood... :)

Flying coasters are just "meh" at best.

I can ride a flyer once and be ok with it, but they are not something you can ride over and over again. Not to mention that they are a very short ride with slow load times. To me a good coaster is something you can ride over and over again and still enjoy it.

If I had to choose between B&M, or Vekoma, I would be going with B&M for sure.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

If we got something like Tatsu or Manta I'd be happy with that. I would not like a Vekoma coaster ever at Cedar Point to be honest.

Flying coasters can be fun. Firehawk at KI surprised me but I still stand behind B&M. The B&M dual-loading station is the only feasible way to really load and unload those rides efficiantly.

The one thing I will say about Flying coasters is that the B&M Pretzel loop is my all time favorite inversion! Still gets me a little nervous everytime, which is hard for a ride to do these days.

But Cedar Point *has* a Vekoma coaster. And it really isn't a bad ride at all!

Hint: It's the one with the bell.

I'm not a big fan of flying coasters, but if one was built I wouldn't mind. I'd try it out once at least and then head to the slightly shorter lines at Millie/Mav/TTD ;)

^^There is no maximum height requirement for Woodstock Express.

Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc

No, but they have done some pathologically stupid things with seat belts on that ride that can make it difficult for adults to ride.

Anytime I daydream about CP's next coaster, the first thing that pops into mind is Manta. I rode it last year and absolutely loved it. Firehawk isn't even in the same league as Manta

Anyway, just my opinion...

I can't fit because of leg room. Same thing with CCMR. Oh well, even if I could fit I would probably skip them anyways.

As soon as I read the first post, I just knew you were going to post that, Dave. :)

Manta and Tatsu are awesome, and their inverted loops (or whatever that element is called) are amongst the most intense elements I've ever experienced. I've heard the Batman B&M flyers at a couple of Six Flags are pretty tame though, and the Vekoma models are terrible.

I'd hate to disappoint you, Mike!
