Flat ride idea For CP

Spiderman was a $100 million ride. That's not going to happen ever.

^I know, this regime would never spend that kind of cash. However, there is hope that when (or should I say if?) someone else gets there and the Paramount acquisition debt is more payed off. Heck, BGE did it and its now quite a popular ride, if it was to happen anywhere it would have to be a "mega" park like CP (or a Florida Busch Park.)

No regime would spend that cash, and if they did, I'd be campaigning for them to get fired. There's no possible way to get a return on investment for a $100 million ride at CP.

And the admission prices would really soar..

Correct me if Im wrong, but quite a bit of that 100mil was developmental (ie new ride system.) I cant seem to find a hard number for Darkastle, but rumors put it at 20mil. Thats a much more reasonable price tag for a brand new, family friendly, headliner ride.

What ride are you referring to at Kings Island?

And you can't reduce the line from Power Tower. Those HalloWeekend days use them all up..

I am talking about the airbender ride. And yeah Power Tower's like could be greatly reduced. Even on the busiest day of last season it was about half full on the drop side. I was there on all three of the busiest weekends of the year last halloweekends. So with a little creativity it could work.

What about just a Roto-Jet/Telecombat? A simple, family-friendly rocketship ride? The river-battle rides look interesting, too (though the footprint might not pay off for the park). I agree with the need for a few new kiddie rides, too (Rock'n'Tug, Samba Tower, ect).

I'm all for thrills as the next guy, but as the past ten years has evidenced, Cedar Point's got enough thrills. Focus on smaller family-type rides, and the park will do better.

In theory I think the El Dorado is a good fit for the park. Flat rides are good to help keep crowds in the park off the midway. The more lines the better for overall times. As I recall the El Dorado has at least 40 seats. With a three minute cycle time you would get that to a capacity similar to other flats that exist in the park.

The issue would be the reliabiliy of the ride. It spent a season SBNO because of maintenence issues. I can't imagine that that would be easy to remedy.

Either way I think that the park would benefit from more mid sized flats. This is something that has been slowly dwindling over the years. Not like the dark rides, but something that could improve the overall experience of the park with little investment (relatively speaking).

smoke 'em if you got 'em

I thought a good place would be right on the midway between Coasters Drive In and Iron Dragon.

^I don't think it would work good there because of the crowds that pass that way and the horable capacity on the ride. The line would be way to long. I would put it like over on the wicked twister midway or by Magnum.

edit for spelling
