Fish by Mine Ride

Does anyone ever stop to look at the fish on the bridge by CCMR? I love throwing some food in the water and watching them roll all over eachother trying to get it, much less race the ducks to get it. Those fish are pretty disgusting if you ask me, but I think they're hilarious. Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that carp are the nastiest fish out there. There also does seem to be less there than in years past.

I enjoy feeding them. It's fun watchin' them too!

they are cutie pies!!!

They would be a whole lot nicer to look at if they cleaned out the ponds and put some clear water in there.

A pond by nature is murky. I can't say I've ever seen a pond with clear water before.

My grandfather used to feed the fish popcorn and they went absolutely nutso over it.

I miss the turkeys that once roamed Frontiertown, the Trail, and near the Gemini midway.

^^^A pond by nature is also not artificially green. :)

Speaking of ponds, does anybody know what kind of fish are now in the pond by Maverick's queues. Are they carp or what? Thursday there were schools and schools of them. At first I thought they were tadpoles. That pond's already looking pretty green too. I know that keeping up with ponds can be a problem since I have one, which would explain the carp, but you've got to be careful not to have too many or they'll starve.

^^ Do you mean the peacocks? I dont remember there ever being turkeys roaming wild.

Beeeeehhhhhhh!!!!!

The turkeys are now being served as a dish at T.G.I. Fridays. The fish are part of a meal at one of the food places. Hence the reason for the less fish. Lol. Joking

I thought I remember there being fish on both sides of the bridge. Now, the one side is covered in green algae/sludge, and doesn't look too appealing.

No matter what line you are in that is by a pond (except Maverick) there are fish and where there are fish there are idiots that just found out if you spit in the ponds the fish eat it.

Thats the number 1 thing me and my dad laugh about in line for iron dragon is people who say "Hey dude, look, if i spit the fish will eat it" and the next person says something along the lines of "haha retarded fish"

No, there were turkeys at one time. Take a look at the top photo on page 188 from Cedar Point: The Queen Of American Watering Places.

They put that green/blue "coloring" in the pond by Mine Ride too? That stuff IS gross. I thought you were just talking about it being dark. Does anyone know what that really is they put in the water?

^^^Yeah. That is such a common occurrence. Unfortunately, those are some of the same kids who spit off the lines in Soak City, and then laugh when they hit someone.

I'm not so sure about the coloring, but I know they dumped a bunch of dye into Lake Isabella near my house, so it would get rid of the massive amounts of plants in the lake.

I guess maybe Cedar Point does that too to keep the lakes from getting covered in...muck? I'm just guessing here.

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

I'm not sure about the greenish part of it, but I do know that you can buy dyes for the water just to make it look better and cut down on algae and weeds. The chemicals we put into our pond are a combination of weed killers and something called AquaShade, which is meant to give it a clean look. I'm guessing that's what's in the ponds and lakes, since the color of the water seems to change sometimes.

I wish the water looked something like this:
