After weeks of planning (and reading this website!) our family finally got out to CP. Nothing could prepare us for the amount of walking we would do in 3 days! My 7 year old daughter loved the kiddie rides and worked her way up to the Mine Ride and Iron Dragon.
I managed 4 MF rides thanks to getting in early (Dorney Seasons Passes) and the Freeway. I like the Freeway, but it would seem that the General Public didn't really know how it worked. WT was being welded on early monday morning, I got a great backseat ride at 10:15 and could see the fresh work. Magnum's red train seemed rough, but I didn't care, it was still amazing. Unfortunately she broke down stranding people on the lift hill. They walked down and my wife refused to ride it anymore after seeing that. Speaking of breakdowns, I got the first Raptor ride of the day, front seat, and after a spirited run, it stopped at the far end of the station. We waited for them to come out and manually unload us. The supervisor said that a sensor malfunctioned during our ride, it will be down for an hour. A question for Raptor Jo: is the ride supposed to smack my head side to side? I am short, so my ears were even with the restraints, and they took a beating. The Talon at Dorney never did that to me, but Talon is nothing compared to Raptor! It was off to my next favorite ride: Disaster Transport. That was almost a walk-on ride all weekend. The theming is so hokey, I love it! And the 3D glasses made the Summer Spectacular even better! My daughter was enthralled by Snoopy on Ice, and freaked out by the Muffleheads. It was the best family vacation we've had in years. Cedar Point rocks! If only we didn't live 7 and 1/2 hours away, i'd be there every weekend. Saturday night was very crowded, Sunday and Tuesday seemed to be the best days for us. Our next visit (soon I hope!) will be during the middle of the week. Pat
