Millennium, I think your thoughts in regards to the purpose of Media Day are a little off...

The early bird gets the late worm. That's all you're getting out of me for opening day.
As for Red Cross, I may try for that this year.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
As others have mentioned, if you want to be first, get a pre-season 07 work crew job and pay attention to rumors during the last 2 weeks. They had a couple chances to ride Maxair before it's media day and I'm sure they will do the same for this ride. It's probably the best and only perk of working in April and the first week of May. Nothing like non-stop cleaning!

After all saftey tests are done, and the state gives it some basic form of approval, the Steelworkers and carpenters, and any one who helped build the ride, are the first to ride... kinda the reward (on top of your check) for your hard work. Then comes the CF Guys, Park Ops Guys (Supervisors ect.), then media and contests(After full state certification). This is pretty much standard at any new job site. If you watch any of the discovery channels specials that show a coaster being built, they discribe this process.

Even from there it will be a long run. If I don't get a red cross ride, I may not even ride it opening day.
