First Timer = )

Hey everyone!

I'm a first timer, and I'll be visiting CP for a total of 2 days, and I need to know a lot of things so I can get the most out of my visit at the best Amusement Park in the World!

Here's the deal: We'll arrive Tuesday the 29th at around 4, (I do have a platinum pass) and we'll check in at Breaker's Express, and then we (me and my dad or just me) will be doing that half day at Cedar Point. Then that Wednesday (July 30th) we'll be doing a full day, and then that Thursday (July 31st) we'll be doing another morning/half day, because then we'll be traveling to Kings Island.

I need to know the following:

1.) What should I expect as far as wait times?
2.) What rides should I hit up first?
3.) I know I'm riding all the coasters, but what other rides should I not miss?
4.) Any advice for a first timer?

Thanks to all who reply here at Pointbuzz & wish me luck! (I thought Wednesday was one of the least busy days. . . = /)

1. Wait's for rides like Millienium Force, TTD, Maverick Ect. can get up to almost an hour and a half during the day, sometimes maybe two. Magnum's usually a walk on. Check the Trip Report's section for trip's taken around the same date to get an idea.

2. Millienium, Maverick (My personal opinion)

3. Skyhawk, Power Tower (Only if a short wait), MaXair

4. Alway's wear broken in shoes!

2. Start near the back of the park, and work your way up. The lines near the back won't be as long at the beginning of the day, because everyone else will be riding the coasters near the fronte of the park. Magnum and Gemini should usually have around a 45 minute wait or less. Expect longer waits for Maverick, Dragster, and Millenium Force. Wait to ride Raptor until the end of the day. Usually during mid day, everyone seems to go ride Raptor. You will get stuck in an hour to 2 hour wait. While if you wait until the end of the day, you will probably have a 45 minute wait or less.

3. Sky Hawk, Power Tower, and Max Air. Also if it is extrememly hot during mid day, go take a ride on Thunder Canyon. It is back in Frontier town. It will cool you off pretty good, and usually the lines arn't too bad. Sky Ride too. It is a fun way to see the entire park, and it saves your feet a little too. :) It is a good way to get From Millenium Force, to the fronte of the park. And you can't beat that view. :)

4. If you are going to be bringing anything in the park with you, keep it to a minimum. By the end of the day, you are just going to want to be free and not have to carry a bunch of junk around. If you do carry anything, keys, wallet, phone, camera, you will need to get a locker while riding Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. Most of the other rides will have bins you can put your things in until you are done with the ride.

I would suggest bringing your lunch and eating in your car. It is a great way to save money, and you can get a nice refreshing break. Whether you eat in our outside of the park, definately take a mid day break. My sis and I did this our last trip, and we felt great when going back into the park.

Have a great time! Soak it all in, because it goes by extrememly fast. Try to get a ride in on all of these coasters: Millenium Force, Raptor, Magnum, Gemini, Maverick, and Top Thrill Dragster. Those are some of the best.

When the park closes (not sure what time it does the day you are going, I think 10pm) you can get one last ride in on a coaster. If the park closes at 10pm, and you are still in line for a coaster, you will beable to ride it one last time. I would suggest Millenium Force. Make sure you get in line before 10pm though. Because if you are not in line, then you won't get that last ride.

Good luck and have fun!! :) Come back and give us a trip report.

From the fountains, yes. I'm not sure how they handle non-bottled water at the stands, though.

Just ask for a cup of ice water. Its free.

If you're one of those people that needs their partially filtered tap-water bottled before they drink it, you're going to pay 3 bucks a bottle.

Also, you can bring unopened bottled water into the park with you, per CP's FAQ.

its my first time too but a lot of my relatives and friends have been there and they've said to make sure on any roller coasters/ rides to make sure your clothes are clear of important items like cell phones, wallets, keys, etc. i mean its kind of obvious to do that but i know some dumb people that haven't done that and they lost some money and broke their phones so make sure any items of importance are not with you
