First Time Visitor

Hello everyone, first post around here...

I am from Virginia and have been to theme parks all over, but sadly I have never been to Cedar Point. That will change on June 10th-11th when I visit Cedar Point for the first time with 3 of my friends.

Basically, I am just wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks/secrets for me? I don't want to miss anything, because I am not sure when I will ever get back.

We should be getting early entry because we are Cedar Fair Platinum Passholders and we are staying at the new wing of Breakers.

Thanks for the help!!

First , did you ask for the platinum pass discount for your stay at breakers? Then judge the crowds after early entry rides to see if a fast lane bracelet should be purchased to maximize your rides since you dont know when you will be back.

Head to the magnum entrance gate for early ERT. I usually start with jogging to maverick, then to millennium force, then go wait for dragster.

Everything JW said! Get Maverick and Millennium out of the way with early entry (if the line's short enough you might even get two or three laps if you want), then get in line for Dragster. Sometimes they'll even open that toward the end of early entry if it's ready to go.

After that, you can kinda work geographically toward the back of the park, and do the front later in the day. Of course there will always be some playing-it-by-ear, but that has worked pretty well for me.

Hit the big 3 as early as possible and save Raptor for later in the day when the line is a walk on. Being that your going on a Sunday and Monday still somewhat early in the season you really shouldn't have a problem getting on alot of rides.

GO IRISH!!

Thanks for all the quick replies!!

We did get the platinum member discount for Breakers, that was the main reason we decided to stay there. Also, I personally haven't stayed at an on property hotel since I was like 6 at Disney.

This may be a stupid question, but you mentioned entering through the Magnum entrance gate for ERT...are there multiple ERT entrance gates? Just want to make sure I get to the right one...

You can get into the park for ERT through any gate. He mentioned going through the Magnum gate because it is the closest to Maverick....Going in through the marina gate will be the closest for MF

Be aware that the lines are long to get in, even for the early resort guests. Don't wait until the last minute.

I just found out that 2 of my friends will only be able to stay for 1 day (Sunday), so we plan on getting the Fast Lane passes for Sunday.

Does anyone know if Platinum pass members get discounts on these?

No discount for pass holders, but the more in your group, the cheaper they get.

Try and get to the magnum gate by 8am, since the park opens for platinum pass holders and resort guests at 9am. Yeah, it's an extra hour of standing around, or sitting, but you want to be at the front of the pack making the dash to Maverick. They usually open the gate at 845 and you go up to a roped off area to wait for the national anthem to be played.

Start at the back. Enter at the resort entrance and work towards the front of the park. Most people start at the main gate, causing big lines at the Raptor and that area. Print out a map and make a plan of assault. Pack a cooler with snacks, prices are atrocious at CP for any sort of food.
