First time to the POINT.

I'm totally in the minority but Iron Dragon is one of my favorite rides. I despise Mantis though.... Do as much as you can, you gotta try everything at least once if possible!

Oh, I'm gonna try my hardest. I Hope to get in at least 12 coasters. I'm keepin my fingers crossed. ;) Does TTD take your picture? I heard sumwhere it takes it twice. Once on the launch and once near the brakes. Just wondering.

you're right about TTD taking two pictures. and, you got the locations correct too. :)

i know people are huge fans of the freeway system, but i've never used it and never felt the need to. last time i went, i rode almost every coaster once and TTD, raptor, MF twice. all without freeway. this was also on a saturday about three weeks ago. sure it wasn't peak summer season, but it was still crowded. its just a matter of knowing when to hit rides when they aren't crowded. :)

if you've never ridden a coaster like iron dragon, you'll like it. its a fun ride. its not "intense" like other coasters at the point, but its fun for sure. but, then again, i think disaster transport is fun too. LOL!! i'm all for the massive thrills, but sometimes just a fun experience is welcome as well.

Exactley. I'm so insanely excited about the big boys, but the smaller stuff is always a nice change of pace. I'm just so pumped (I don't know how many times I've said that already) but it's true!. lol. I can't wait. ;)

If you really want to be pumped, Bodes, visit the park in May or Sept.

At that time of year, you wait for NOTHING.

Well, I can't change that. I'm goin with my youth group in case you didn't already see. I have to go the 11th. I've tried to get my family to go, but we get season passes to Geauga Lake and the Cedar Point add-on is a lil too expensive.

Bodes, If you do get there when the park opens, there is a large chance that TTD might not be open yet. I would head over to Millenium Force as soon as the park opens because that can likely become the longest line as the day goes on. Once TTD opens for the day, it usually doesn't have quite as long of a wait.

Maybe I was lucky but all 3 mornings I was there TTD was open and running great. I think that alot of the crap that has gone on other years is starting to die down a little.

101 on Magnum and counting...

Here's my ultimate Guide, that I've followed for the past 4 years or so. I guess it builds on other's info and my own!

1. Get to the Soak City Entrance ASAP in the morning to run to TTD. Even if its down for an hour or so, stay in line!

2. Get Freeway passes ASAP, even if there's a huge line, it is FAR better to sit down and wait for the booth to open than stand up and move in an actual ride line.

3. When the crowds are HUGE and long lines plague, Power Tower (Up), Dance Dance Revolution, and Gemini are ULTIMATE.

4. Always ask for Ice water and say thank you for saving $3.00.

5. Always ride and plan to ride till about 10 mins till close, then SPRINT to either MF or TTD. I think you should end on each coaster on 2 different nites.

6. Always opt for the Front seat in Raptor and TTD, and back seat in everything else. Magnum, any last seat in a car.

7. Be Sure to make "Running Man" Motions on WT, it makes it 100% more fun.

8. Don't play or ride in the "land of the wet people", you'll feel bad/sick all day.

9. If you're mega tired, you can always hitch a ride with the train!

10. Bring a disposeable camera, pictures of Rollercoasters are the best.

11. Johnny Rockets hits the spot when you've got the munchies.

Good Luck.

lol. That's weird because I do the "running man" motin on Steel Venom at Geauga Lake all the time. lol. I'm definately taking a camera. I'll post a few pics in here when i get home and let ya'll know how it went. Once again, i want to thank you all for your hints and tips for my first trip. I appreciate it a lot. ;)

i'd add WT to #5 for the front seat, frank. personally i love front seats for all inverts. i just like to see the track. ha ha!!

Usually when I go to Cedar Point, I'm there for just one day so that makes for a very busy day. In general I love the front seat of roller coasters above all other seats on the train but when time is tight, I settle for what I can get.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Yeah, of course! lol. Sometimes I put my arms and legs straight out when going backwards. It feels like in a weird movie when someone gets kicked in the chest and they fly backwards like that in slow motion. lol. Only this isn't in such slow of a motion. lol. ;)
