We woke up early enough wed. morning. to get to the park at 10:00 exactly, and headed to the back of the park first. I have to say that just looking at TTD is BREATHTAKING!! I've always been a thrillseeker, and i had never been more excited. We decided to wait until later to get in line(since it was back way past the PT), so we started with Magnum, Gemini, and Mean Streak. Gemini was my personal fave, but magnum was pretty amazing also.
We then went up to get in line for MF. I'd seen this coaster on travel channel (a nerd...i know) so i was pretty excited for this one also. The line was only about 1.5 hours, even with a 20 min breakdown. I couldn't believe the airtime and smoothness of MF! I had been on Nitro, at SF New Jersey, and i thought that had to be the best of its kind, but i was SO wrong. MF was great! After the ride, we got our hand stamped for Mantis, and rode Raptor(1.5 hours wait - which kind of surprised me since the ride is far from new). Me and one other friend went over to WT- cuz the others were chicken - and i screamed my butt off. We hit DT - nothing to talk about - and then decided to wait for TTD.
When we were walking back, we noticed that no cars were going up anymore. All morning and through the early afternoon, TTD was working perfectly! Luckily, though, people were getting out of line just as we walked back and the op said it was closed. SUCKERS!! We only waited about 15 min for the line to open back up, and then about another 20 to ride. When we got to the front of the line, i was flipping out! It's kind of funny, cuz i've bungee jumped 120 ft without even thinking twice, but couldn't manage to drag myself onto TTD! Anyway, i finally rode, and don't remember anything about my first ride! I know that i screamed the entire time without taking a breath! Still, it was an amazing feeling!
After TTD, we headed to PT, then MF again, and raptor one more time. We hit Mantis, which i was nervous about. I had never been on a standing roller coaster before. We waited for the front, and i was extremely scared. But it was pretty cool.
After Mantis, we went back in line for TTD. The op, again, said the ride would be closing for the night, but it was only 9:00, so we decided to wait outside to find out for sure. Sure enough, 20 min later, the line opened, and we had about a 1.5 hour wait. This time, i wasn't scared! At least until we went to launch position. They held us for at least a min longer than the first time, and i was yelling! I couldn't handle the anticipation. But finally it launched, and i put my hands up, and the view was amazing at night. i remembered every second of this ride. It was great, and the perfect way to end the day.
At about 10:30, we left to go back to the hotel and prepare for the long drive back home. Overall it was worth it!! Here are my top 5 CP coasters:
1. TTD - of course - b/c of intense speeds and breathtaking height
2. MF - of course - b/c of airtime, ride comfort, and overall fun
3. WT - u can't expect what this ride is gonna be like, and the surprise is probly the best part of it
4. Raptor - i love inverted coasters!
5. Mantis - originality
I think CP will now replace Hershey as being my annual amusement park trip. I just hope that someday i'll ride a coater that will stun me as much as the cp ones did this year.
