Area 3 attraction

Is this forum site still active? I'm looking for information for employment on the railroad. Any suggestions, contact information. Retired engineer interested in steam.

Go here and apply.

The job code should be listed under Maintenance but MAY still be under Park Operations.

Should be under maintenance on the application. Our hiring manager is Greg Spear. Call the general park number and ask for him. You will most like start as a fireman, but since you have railroad experience you maybe moved up sooner. We are nothing like the class ones but we follow similar hand and whistle signals. The people on platform are in a different department than us. We only maintain and operate the locomotives and trains themselves. Steam is a whole different ball game but it is easy to learn and is a fun job! If you're handy with a shovel and a pitch fork.

Reading this is pretty fascinating. It's so easy to forget that the CP&LE is an actual real steam train, only smaller- I had no idea so much work went into operating it. You guys are fantastic, especially for doing that hot, hard work in the blazing midsummer Ohio sun.

Proud 5th Liner and CP fan since 1986.
