I went to visit my brother in Erie, PA for the afternoon and thought to myself what would be a better way to unwind then go to Cedar Point? I whipped out my season pass and I was in the park in no time. It was about 6:30 and surprise! Wicked Twister was running! I got on in 3-2 and had a great, intense ride after waiting about 20 minutes. Then I walked over to Raptor, and got a ride in my money seat (back-right) and took the Sky Ride for some pictures and headed to the middle of the park. I passed Power Tower and got a quick Maggie run. She was running just as I remember her from last weekend, smooth and fun. The airtime was beautiful and didn't leave me bruised like it did last season. I love the crew on Magnum, and always have. They always seem to be quick, efficiant, and upbeat about things. I took a walk around Area 51 to see if anything was new, and then checked out Mean Streak. The first half was (groan) going slow due to the brake hitting hard, but boy was the second half running wild for a change. I noticed some new wood around the drop after the mid-course, even though they replaced a lot in that area last season. I bought a key-chain at the photo booth and came down Frontier Trail. (I don't know why, I always do corky things like that even though I have one) It was getting late and I checked out the Force line and it was about 3 queque snakes behind the coke machines so I figured I would hit it another time. So as most evenings end with me at Cedar Point nowadays I marathoned Mantis. I tamed the bug 6 times during closing and it was a great way to end the night. The trims on the mid-course brakes have been very light this season which made for a very fun and fast ride.
Overall I love coming to Cedar Point in the evenings, and the other day was no exception. I'm surprised I haven't met more of you, I guess I'm just not looking hard enough. I will be at the park Tuesday and Wednesday and I am smelling another Mantis mini-thon coming up again. ;)
