I was disappointed with Carnevil last year too. The idea of a haunted carnival is great, but there were only about 4 screamsters there when I went through on a Saturday night, October 22, 2005 to be specific. The whole Carnevil midway, if you will, was bare are didn't have much to it. I was impressed with Fright Zone, the whole atmosphere was excellent. I look forward to Fear Faire this year and hope that Carnevil is a bit better.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I loved it. I took my kids up on opening weekend and actually ran into a table of about twenty of the "monsters" at Dianna's Deli after hours.
Then again, I love everything Cedar Point.
You can find the same group of about 20 or 30 Screamsters every Friday and Saturday at Dianas or Steak and Shake, but mostly Dianas. Its been a Screamster tradition since 2001 (the first year) to go out to eat after work every weekend.
I thought Fear Fair was great. I love that it is more than just screamsters jumping out at you. The marketplace area with the merchants who have rather interesting items is great.
I also learned that the screamsters love cameras. ;) :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Well, I figured, before trying anything else, I should give it a try myself and see how I do... well, we'll get to the outcome in a minute.
But first, I have to say I was really impressed with the screamsters yesterday. Many of them were more than happy to help me get shots, and were interested in what I was doing. Thanks to all of you for "helping" me out yesterday. I must also say, that you guys and gals don't get enough credit for some of the stuff you have to put up with from guests. Once again, keep up the great work.
Well, ask you shall receive...

I plan on going back next week and perfecting a few things. It really took some time to get the hang of it, as it was different than the "norm." But once I got the hang of it, it really was a lot of fun. Enjoy!

This is the most recent Halloweekends thread so I'll take a quick second to ask. Has anything showed up for WWL in the Land of Lost Thrills?
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
No.

Those are definitely some of the best screamster pictures I've ever seen, you did an excellent job. As you know now, most of us are certainly not camera shy. :)
Thank you for letting us know that you enjoy what we do. Hearing things like that makes it a lot easier to go out there and do such a physically demanding job every weekend. I'm looking forward to your next batch of pictures.

DBCP; I had a hunch after leaving Fear Faire Saturday evening that it was you I was talking to about our cameras and such (remember the guy in the long sleeve gray and red Ohio State shirt over by the entrance/exit at the Sneek Peeks booth? Yep, that was me). Great pictures as well. :) *** Edited 10/16/2006 8:18:24 PM UTC by BlueStreak64***

Thanks Chris and Mike!
Mike, you know, after I spoke with you, I was thinking... "Do I know him from somewhere?" :) I wish that would have occurred to me sooner. Nice getting a chance to "unknowingly" meet you, though.

Good pictures.
Were you wearing a red hoodie? If so, I passed by you.
No, actually, I had on green...

Has everyone seen that one guy who is in the graveyard in the main midway? He is dressed in a white suit and hat and walks with a cane?
I swear to you he is the best I have ever seen. We are going again this Friday and I have to get pictures of him. He is amazing!
So busting out the flash in the scare zones is cool?
I don't know why, but I'd have thought it'd be frowned upon.
Most of the time you don't even notice, with all the lighting effects and fog. I don't even notice it. Besides, it would be hard to enforce that rule. Like the No Smoking, No Drinks, No touching rules. Your not allowed to do it, but it happens all night long.
We generally dont mind pictures, but we do appreciate it if you ask, and not just flash the camera in our faces. that can be a surprise after being in relative darkness for five hours. Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend

That's exactly why I was assuming it would be a no-no.
Good to know. Now I'm looking forward to getting some shots this weekend. :)
Yah, houdini is right, we really don't mind the flash but we do appreciate people asking first. Lots of people will just walk by and snap a flash 6 inches from our face without any warning. I'm sure you can imagine that gets pretty annoying.
I don't really mind that they don't enforce the no drinks rule. When you scare some guy and he throws his nearly full beer into his teenage daughter's face, that's plenty of enforcement. :)
