Something else to consider:
What's your question? Are you just looking to find out what it is?

The Pod looks like a neat gadget, for sure.
Doug, don't worry about me trying to use that with the Canon. I don't own one of those models, anyway. I already ruled out using anything but a hefty tripod for anything.
A couple of us should probably get together for a day of shooting (pictures, not guns, or both if you want :) ) next year.
That would be really cool. I hope to have not only my digital with the zoom lense, but also have a wide lense and some filters; as well as a nice video camera, by next year. I love photography, and getting together with a bunch of others who share the same interests (and enjoy taking pictures of the same subjects) sounds like a cool idea.
As for Fear Fair, how is it layed out? I know it incorporates Point Pavilion, but, is there only one entrance/exit?

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Yeah Josh, that sounds like fun!
Mike, I think you can go in or out either side like CarnEvil and Fright Zone.

[url][url]Yes, you can go in either enterances.
If I can remember correctly this is the layout. The red is the path and the green circles are the enterances.

DBCP- probably the best advice I can give you for shooting pictures in the zones without fog is to try to go on a breezy night. The fog machines turn on and off in cycles. Find a good area for a picture, wait for the fog in that area to cycle off, and the breeze will usually clear it out pretty fast. I know that closeup picture I have in my profile isn't a very good example since it's taken from so close, but I have seen some pretty good ones taken at more of a distance, so it is possible. Good luck!

Chris is right about some good shots being taken at a distance. There is one that comes to mind with what some call the “star” of Screamster media;)
Maybe we'll have something like a PointBuzz photo workshop or PointBuzz Photo Day next year. The thought has actually crossed my mind before.
I deleted the post asking about exposure Doug. I did some reading and I think I understand now.

I'll show you some stuff on closing weekend, Vince. :)
There's a lot to learn about photography. So much that you never stop learning at all.

Or, you could always wait until you get there and see for yourself. Then again, you wouldn't have an opportunity to tell everyone that you're going to CP if you did it that way.
Can you tone down the dicketry, please?

Apparently the picture of the so-called "star" was good enough to justify putting it on a billboard in downtown Cleveland across the street from Jacob's field. Or so I've heard.

I found Fear Faire to be the best of the three scare zones. They were not understaffed unlike CarnEvil and the "performers" did a great job getting scares out of people. It was also alot longer than I thought it was going to be.
I have heard a lot of good things about Fear Faire. A lot of people that don't scare easy told be it was worth the walk through because of the theming, props, and costumes. So thats good.
I would assume since Fear Faire is new this year CP is putting more of their resources into it to make it great in its inaugural year.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
awesome . thanks guys. i cant wait to go now, but i just recently visited the haunted hoochie in columbus, and i dont know if anyhting will beat that. It was amazingly scary and fun, but cedar point always has rides;)
It's definitely worth a visit. The fog was incredible, it whited out even parts of the midway and the raptor queue (on a slightly windy night); needless to say, going through it was a complete fog wall. It's kind of a maze in the fog, which adds to the suspense, and it had a couple really good screamsters (the one that hid behind the light was my favorite).
In comparison to other walkthroughs I think the screamsters in the Fright Zone tried harder to scare people, but in Fear Faire they succeeded a lot more (if that makes any sense). It was also the best in terms of fog-out. I didn't go through CarnEvil but I heard it was kinda pointless this year.
