Halloween happens to be mine and my husbands favorite holiday of the year and we usually go all out with our own little haunt that we set up in our front yard for the neighborhood kids on all hallows eve. We love dressing up in our scary halloween costume garb and hitting the local haunted attaractions. (Unfortunately, Cedar Point doesn't allow costumes or full face make up past their gates otherwise we'd be up there floating about looking like some freakish display every other weekend.) That being said, I can honestly say that there isn't much about Halloweekends that we don't love. The whole atmosphere is awesome. The brisk autumn breeze blowing in off of Lake Erie sets a chilling mood, the music, the silent horror flicks on the big screen, the screams coming from the thrill rides passangers, the fog, the costumed characters running about, and especially the decor thoughout the park. It is just utterly amazing. I can't even begin to imagine the time and money invested in it all.
Walking though Cedar Point in late September and into October when it at one time was off season seems kinda strange the 1st couple times you do it. Seeing people bundled in hats, coats, gloves and scarves is kind of odd when your used to seeing tan lines, bathing suits, shorts and tank tops. Now that we've personally experienced Halloweekends, we couldn't imagine Cedar Point being the same without it. We hope that it's a tradition that they carry out for many years to come so that our children might be able to enjoy it like we do when they're our age. (It helps brings the black magic back to Halloween for those of us too big to go trick or treating.)

My favorite decoration is the hearse by Power Tower and TTD. I just think it's cool-looking. I also like the Goth skeletons outside Vampire's Lair, because they remind me of me and my friends.
After tonight, my new vote is Fright Zone. It was so awesome. There were a bit too many people, but still awesome.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
AGAIN I went to Cedar Point and hit up some of the haunted attractions, and yet again NOT SCARED! The workers-which were all ride pride, we just chillin' talking amoungst themseleves! They would be talking, not knowing anyone was coming in (because the park was so dead today) and then by the time we entered the room , it was too late because we already saw them.
Overall, i had a GREAT day at Cedar Point today, the weather was perfect for Halloweekends, there were no lines, watched the show at Red Garter -as usual, the best show in the park! Those guys do a great job!
Fries at Hot Potato, excellent! Pumpkin fudge at CJ's...MMMMMmmmmMMMMM good! :-)
I wish they would run the Carnevil & Haunted trail on Sunday nights, it's dark towards close!
It takes at least three and a half hours to get us all ready and in makeup for the Fright Zone/Carnevil. The logistics involved in opening it for no more than an hour or so on a Sunday night just wouldn't make sense.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I've never actually been through any of the scarier attractions, but I appreciate most the overall feel of Halloweekends. I enjoy seeing the Point in her 'costume'. So much thought has been put into all the little details to fully immerse you in the atmosphere. It is truly impressive. And the illusionists are always great as well. 24 more hours to go....looking forward to this weekend at CP. Safe driving to all who will be heading down (or up I suppose!) tomorrow.
