Fantastic Fall Weather

Despite the cooler weather this past weekend we decided to make the drive to the best place on Earth! We left later than planned and had to make an unexpected stop, but still arrived at seven. We parked in the SC lot and hopped on Magnum in a quick ten minute wait. They still had the trims on but they didn't seem too bad. Great ride, best ride of the season on Magnum for me. Cold, but great!

The couple we went with have not been to the park yet this year, so we went back to Maverick. The line said an hour but it moved very quickly, we probably waited about fourty minutes for rows three and four. It wasn't the greatest ride on Maverick I had, but you can't beat a night ride on Maverick. The other two loved it and really wanted to ride again, but it was time to check out MF. We walked through Fright Zone and it was pretty good. I jumped a couple times.

We wanted to get a beer before jumping on MF, it was the longest wait we had all night. Monsters Rock was about to begin and the place was packed. Probably waited about 45 minutes to pay almost thirty bucks for four beers. Drank those and watched the beggining of the show, it was very good. From what I saw in the beginning it was better than last year's show. We jumped in line for MF but found out it was almost ten o'clock and the line was pretty long, looked to be about an hour. We jumped out of line and planned on getting some cheese on a stick, since I've been craving it for about two weeks. We walked back through Carnevil, which is usually my favorite however, a lot of the screamsters were just standing in the middle, not really doing anything. There was one guy with a garbage can and siren who did get us. That was very good! Wow, we looked over at Wicked Twister, no wait! We walked right on to the train, tree rows from the back, it was a great ride as always! Now to cheese on a stick, oh no- it's not opened! I asked one of the employees about it and they directed me to a stand in the midway where we could get some. It was so delicious! I love pepper jack cheese on a stick!

We then walked through Fear Faire, which was incredible this year! It's very disorianting. I could not tell where to go a few times and ended up walking into dead ends and getting the hell scared out of me a few times. There was a guy that looked like an Oakland Raider mascot that was hilarious. He came up screaming at us and I laughed. He asked what's so funny and my boyfriend said he looks like an Oakland Raider and no one are afraid of the Raiders! We are still talking about that! The other couple that we were with got a good scare when we were exiting and there was what looked like a statue of a large knight. The guy kept saying is he real? Nah! Then when we turned around he jumped out and scared the crap out of him! Those screamsters in there Fri night were very good! Loved Fear Faire!

Now on to Raptor, there was no wait up until the second level of stairs. We waited for the front seat and seriously froze! I was so cold, great ride though! It was getting pretty late so we wanted to hit up Top Thrill. Walked up to a 1/4 hr wait time sign. Great! Walked in and where is the couple we were with? Oh Well- let's ride. We walked in to the station without waiting. waited three trains for the second row! Awesome! As i'm rolling out of the station, I see the other couple- so I point them out and call them wimps so everyone knew they were! The trains in front of us seemed to be barely cresting the top hat and I was hoping for a rollback so bad since my boyfriend has never gotten one. (My only rollback was my first ride on Dragster in '04- how great was that!) We were in the green car though and it seemed to fly over the top. I wanted to get back in line but he thought it would be rude since the other couple wouldn't ride. Oh Well! We called it a night.

Saturday was a disaster for us! We arrived to a nearly full front lot a little before one. We parked around back and found Magnum at a 3/4 hr wait. Nah. On to MF, not so fast, it's not opened! We get a beer and wait but there's no sign of test runs and the park is horribly busy. So onto Famous Daves to catch some of the games. We had a nice lunch and ended up doing Skyhawk, Ocean Motion, and the Turnpike Cars and leaving.

I'm planning on making one final trip to the park next Friday to get a final ride on MF, Dragster, Maverick and Skyhawk and do Werewolf Canyon and the haunted houses. Friday's seem to be the time to go, especially if you're a non drinker as our longest wait Fri was to get beer!

Thanks, wickedsister. I had the garbage can Friday night, but I do not usually have it.. someone else does. I was just using it for that one night.

On second thought, it could have been someone else, too.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Fear Faire. The fog was really great this past weekend, and everyone in my zone seemed to be at the top of their game. I'm trying to think of who the "Oakland Raider" guy could have been. I usually ask people who are laughing the "what's so funny" question, but I've never thought I looked like the Oakland Raider guy. :)

Sweet night, and yeah ive noticed the nice fall weather also it is very nice!

I will be coming out this weekend, from Kansas City - and I am hoping for Fantastic Fall Weather. But... from what I have seen, it is looking like rain will be likely :(
