There is a Famous Daves that just opened up recently in the Grand Rapids, MI, area, as well. It's located on 44th Street near the Rivertown Crossings Mall.

TheRealCP and I enjoyed our meal at Famous Dave's at CP, so the hubby and I tried out the one in Westland. We got the mongo combination for two and came away with two thoughts: The ribs totally sucked, but the chicken and pork was excellent.
We prefer our ribs with meat on them, not chewy little bones. Give me Damon's.

Went there both in Minnesota (mall of America) and for my birthday in Grand Rapids. The first thing you have to do is cover the ribs in Devil Spit BBQ sauce. I love their ribs, they are just too good, especially when you make them all spicy.

I thought the Montgomery Inn rids were outstanding, a little better than Famous Dave's. The ribs I had at the CP's Dave's were really good though, not meatless bones like OldCPer had in Westland.

I've had Damon's ribs many times, I thought the Montgomery Inn ribs were superior.

I think ribs in general suck. Why would anyone put that much fat into their bodies?

I put a lot of things in my body that I probably shouldn't. But, ribs taste yummy.

Me too, Chief. But that has is advantages. No virus or sickness can live in the enviroment that I provide. I called in sick to my employer for the first time this year. I also celebrated my 10 year anniversary there this past November.
Not a bad streak. And I like ribs. :)

The only thing I don't like about ribs is how much work they are to eat. I usually get the BBQ Chicken at FD's.

Yeah, that (non-meaty ribs) must've been an odd occurance. Every time I've ever had Famous Ribs they're always meaty. Not to mention a personal favorite of mine. I'm a sucker for the way they carmelize the sauce over the open flame.
FYI: For those of you who liked the Montgomery Inn ribs of the Boathouse, look no further than Breakwater Cafe. I stopped in there for dinner one night with my family on a Saturday when the wait at Dave's was too long. We walked in and got sat immediately, and I was happy to find that I could still satisfy my rib craving that day. I was also happy to find out that CP didn't have to sacrifice the excellent Montgomery Ribs in exchange for Famous Daves. *** Edited 12/24/2004 1:23:09 AM UTC by Scott Cameron***
