No. Which I think is the wrong decision. If they can keep Bay Harbor open year-round, I think Famous dave's can do just as much business.
If they thought they could make a buck off it year round you can bet it would stay open.
TGIFriday's doesn't really do great business year round. It is often only busy on the weekends. Bay Harbor can stay open because it is one of the few "nice" restaurants in the Sandusky area so many people take business lunches and dinners there.

It seems if you're a restaurant in Sandusky, you can do great business year-round if you're on Rt. 250. Otherwise, it's hit and miss. Those places on Rt. 250 are packed on the weekends, even in February (though the summer is by far peak season). I don't think the volume at Bay Harbor itself is that high during the winter. I don't think they're even open for lunch in the off-season.
Damon's, located across the Bay in Battery Park, might be a good indication of what a year-round Famous Dave's would be like. They have a lot of summer traffic from boaters, but in the winter, the volume goes way down (much more than the small drop the Rt. 250 chains experience).
Perhaps with Castaway Bay, there is some potential there for Famous Dave's to be open year-round, but I suppose that remains to be seen. I had heard that a year-round Famous Dave's was, at the least, a fleeting thought in someone's mind, but I don't know for sure.

Granted this is from an employee that worked at Famous Dave's in the summer and is now at Castaway Bay, but it sounds more like a definite plan for next year.
Famous Dave's just opened a restaurant on the west side of Cleveland. I wonder if Famous Dave's corporate is pushing year-round operation in Sandusky as part of franchise expansion.

You are right...it is dinner-only during the winter at Bay Harbor. It has been a while since I've been there.
I highly recommend the blackened prime rib.
Yummy!

BW-3 always seemed busy back in the Millennium Force construction era.

I have never understood the allure of BW-3. I personally do not like their wings. I prefer Quaker Steak & Lube's wings much more, and in Sandusky, the Brass Pelican's on Perkins Ave are far superior.
I've always wondered, how did Buffalo Wild Wings get the nickname BW-3? There aren't 3 W's or 3 B's there... And for what its worth, I've never had a good experience anywhere in the chain. Is the one in Sandusky any good? I dunno how a place with "buffalo wings" in the name of the restaurant can have such lousy wings...

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I like B-Dubs wings much more than Quaker State. Plus, they have those cool trivia gameplayer things.
Yes those game playing things on the tv are awesome. I am very bad at them, but I think they are just fun to play.

I'll never understand why they changed the name.
If you had one next to campus while in college, the place holds a certain place in your heart regardless of the food quality. It's more of a bar atmosphere that happens to have food compared to Quaker, which feels more like a restaurant.

I like quaker steak and Lube and BW3,but I usually go to BW3 because it's down the street from me, almost within walking distance. Is there even a BW3 in Sandusky? If it is where is it, for future trip reference?

BW3 is actually in the sandusky mall plaza, its over hidden by TOPS... most people don't ever notice its there.
Anyone heard anything about the rumor of a Famous Dave's in the Toledo, Oh area? A waitress during the summer said that there were future plans to build one. I personally enjoyed the food when I dragged my family there to eat lunch in July.

Rollbacks - 1 - Opening Day 2005
Last TTD train of the night (6-23/24).
We have two in Detroit and they are always packed, 60-90 minute waits. I'm sure Toledo will get one soon as the demographics can be similar in some areas.
It will probably go in over at Arrowhead in Maumee. It seems that is the place to build restaurants as Smokey Bones and Cracker Barrel just opened over there this past summer. Or it could even go in by the new Wal-mart on Glendale. Which would be good and bad! Since they built the Wal-mart it takes me 25 minutes to get to work at the Zoo. And Its only two miles from my house! But it would be awesome for it to be close to my house! *** Edited 12/14/2004 3:57:40 PM UTC by newt***
There's one about ten minutes from my house in Westland, MI. It is by far my favorite restaurant. I usually try to go on slow days (same as with CP), so I'm not sure how busy it gets, but I wouldn't doubt if its packed.

News for people in the Detroit Downriver area, they're building a Famous Daves near Eureka and Telelgraph in Taylor as we speak. Seeing as how I live just 1 mile from there, I can't wait.
