this is essentially the same discount package that they've always done in the early season,
It is for the regular day tickets. But senior and junior tickets for $10? I don't recall any deal quite that good. Maybe I just have a bad memory.
The deal is even better for Erie County residents - $20 off.
When you say "end of the season", does that mean regular season or does it include Halloweekends?
I'm happy to see the senior discounts. My mom has been wanting to go to CP just to "walk around, see the shows and play games" but paying full price for a woman who is 73 years old and not likely to ride anything more exciting than the train just didn't seem worth it.
I had to disappoint her by telling her Fascination, her favorite game, was gone. I was also concerned about her walking the park for hours, but as she put it "I walk two miles twice a day, I'm sure I can handle walking around the park. They DO have benches, don't they?"
LOL!
So it looks like TheRealCP and I will be taking our moms to CP soon.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
The senior and junior pricing will be in effect during HalloWeekends.
The $9 parking charge is still extreme, and sends an immediate red flag that the money in you're wallet won't stay there long. One way they could offset that feeling is to offer a "valid today only" $4 or $5 merchandise or sit-down restaurant coupon when you pay for the parking.
For those that weren't planning on purchasing souvenirs, or eating in one of the park's restaurants, it might spur them into making that purchase after all.
It sounds like half you guys are living off welfare.
Go to a major league sports game and park in one of the lots (or just look at the prices). Here in GR where we only have an AHL team, they still want to charge 6-7 bucks to park in a lot. That is so that my car can sit there for 3 hours, tops. Now go to CP. Most people are there for more than 10 hours. Does 9 bucks sound so bad now?
9 dollars is a drop in the bucket to the whole experience.
Goodbye MrScott

I think offering the "discount coupon" that BigHkid stated for food and merchandise would be a good idea. I know I would use it!!! lol
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
Most lots close to the Jake for Indians games are $10, with the closest parking at around $20. That, plus $6 beer, $3.75 hot dogs, $4 fries and $4 soda in the ballpark doesn't make the CP prices that extreme.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
John,
The prices around Van Andel even during the day when there's no event are outrageous. Parking is at a premium there in downtown. 6-7 isn't that bad, really.
Besides, isn't it like $10 if you park in the ramp right across from the main entrance? I know it was the last time I went to a concert there.
Might have been for a concert. We almost always park on the street for Grifs games though. I don't think I've ever gone to a concert at the Van, just not a fan of huge venue shows. I do know the one across the street though is only 7 or 8 for Griffs, but then again, the Griffs hardly sell out. If you have Metallica or something coming in, they'll jack the price up because they can.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Walt, thanks for answering my question from yesterday.

I haven't paid for day parking in a while, but they used to do this---you used to be able to use your parking stub to get something taken off of your bill at a sit-down restaurant, if memory serves.
