Excellent deals. Now we know what Tony and Tyler's "seriously exciting" news was.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Wow, better by my tickets online.

This is good and all...but totally lame considering the "seriously exciting" crap by tony and tyler.

Maybe you were too quick to assume? That happens a lot around here. Spray paint in Frontiertown means new supercoaster. Demon Drop for sale means a new attraction is taking its place. Talk of "seriously exciting" news automatically means a new ride for 2006.

Maybe "seriosly excting" could mean a new ride and a new roller coaster. Or 2 new rides and a roller coaster.

Bring back Boblo!

In regards to the Senior Ticket, the only thing I can say is it is about time. In the later years of my grandfather's life I would have loved to have him come to the Point and just walk around with me. He certainly wouldn't have been riding most rides (maybe the train) and probably may have only seen a show of two...but that certainly didn't justify the cost of the ticket.

Heck, I could have got my grandfather in for free but he wouldn't go on principle....

Walt, we just can't handle all the teasing Tony and Tyler do to us. Everyone wants a new coaster!

August 12th, 2005- Eminem and Lil Jon concert at Comerica Park.....I was right at the stage! 50 Cent sprayed water on me, Eminem was an inch away from touching me, and when the concert was over I walked outside and met Lil Jon's Eastside Boyz!

The park becomes more and more like a Six Flags everyday. It's great that there are some discounts happening, especially the Senior ticket, but it seems to me like they are scrambling for a solution to a problem that has started to get out of control.

PR terms: Extreme Discounting!

Layman's terms: We can't bring in enough people with our normal ticket pricing so instead we slash theprice of admission. Then we make several budget cuts to compensate!

Way to go CP...

Two possible reasons for lower attendance are:

1) A Decline in customer service

2) Economy, and people's disposable income not going to CP

You do have a point. What is the real reason attendance is lower. You can't lower gate prices and still have poor customer service. (not that it is terrible). Then the customer will visit one time and see it's the still the same once inside.

its gas prices... sticker shock....

who wants to drive 3 hours each way and pay $60 just on gas?!

CP needs to do something to convince those people its worth it.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that some would be able to take this news and turn it into a negative.

So true Walt. With they money you are saving with the discounted tickets, you can use that to fill your gas tank and be happy.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Why do people keep saying that there is bad customer service at Cedar Point? I'm always treated with resepect when I go. Everyone is nice and helpful. Now I can understand the ride ops not saying much because they are on their feet all day.

Walt, I'm just calling it how I see it. Just because they drop the price of admission a few bucks isn't going to make me turn a blind eye to the negative impacts it seems to be having on customer service.

Had there been no change in customer service between last year and this year, I would be delighted by the reduction to the admission prices, but that's simply not the case.

Agreed. I go OUT of my way when a guest complains to me to help them out. Although my screen name tells all, I really can't do all that much to help :(

BTW, Walt, If you were referring to me, I didn't try to make it negative, I just meant that Cedar Point is trying (well) to reach out to the working class by lowering tickets to offset the higher fuel prices.

Way to go, CP.

I thank God that when I go to Cedar Point I'm never the one who drives or pays for gas because yesterday in Windsor gas prices spiked $1.00/litre! Half of the gas stations in the city weren't equipped with the signed to post a 4-digit gas price. In my two family vehicles, an Eagle Vision (which is a stepped up version of an old Intrepid), and a Chevy Impala both have a 60 litre gas tank. That is $60 to fill up, probably more! I've had my licence for 2 months and all gas has done is sky rocketed.

It's really great to see the discounted senior and child tickets. It's one of the few positive things happening around the park recently.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Although it's pretty obvious the discounting is a response to low attandence this year, I think it's a wonderful thing. Now my grandma can visit the park for the first time in nearly 40 years.
