Extra Expenses

Do i have to pay for a parking permitt, or do i have to pay for any other extra expenses while im there besides food and my cost a week for the dorm/appt

You don't have to pay for parking, you'll get a sticker for your car. When you process out, if you don't return your parking sticker I believe you will be charged for it, and that is expensive. If you want to get a sweatshirt, or wind suit that will be extra. I HIGHLY suggest that you buy a rain suit, especially if you are in rides or work anywhere outside. The rain suit is like 12 or 15 dollars, not much, but you'll be glad you got it when it rains. Other then getting something from wardrobe, I can't think of anything else.

the only expenses you'll have will be things like laundry, food, and anything you want to do in your free time. the park provides plenty of trips which they can deduct from your paycheck, and there is plenty to do in the area.

for U.S. people, i guess you'll need a passport to go to windsor now they're getting more cautious with the border guards.

as a lifeguard i had a few misc expenses to replace my whistle and little red pouch when they fell apart.

my roomate (who was in games) and i also had to get a second pair of shoes in the middle of the season since we wore them out.

make sure you get a cp hat and plenty of sunblock, even if you find you will be working in a seemingly shaded area.

You won't have to have a passport to get in to the US from Canada till 2008! You won't have that many expense. Food, Gas*if you have a car*, laundry, and entertainment. And anything that you need from waredrobe.*You can get those deducted from you paycheck though*

I never had to pay for a sticker and i havent had them removed both years i was there. As MF said, you wont need passports to go into Canada till 2008. I was up in Windsor last Saturday and didnt need anything but my Id and birth certificate.

December 31, 2006 is the official date for needing a passport for air travel to Mexico and Canada. Land routes will be phased in over the next couple years. So you may very well need it sooner than 2008.
