I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
On another thread someone talked about a 5 year plan and another person basically said they were sick of hearing about Cedar Point's nonexistent 5 year plan. But in the article they talked about Cedar Point's 5 year plan.
I also know the whole space problem has been beatin like a dead horse but it is touched on in the article. They do not say there is a space problem but they mention the fact that they meet often to discuss projects and plans to use the existing space wisely. Now again I know there is not a "space problem" but like they mention they just cannot add 6 acres for a new project. Oh well my 2 cents worth, let the attacks BEGIN!!!!
I'm with you there Siva. I noticed that too. I wonder if that five year plan in the article really does exist now.... I guess we'll never know until someone gets on the committee. ;)
Yeah, the thought about CP not being about to add 6 acres like other parks becasue of the peninsula has always been in the back of my mind. Although, there is no space problem now, ther will be about 100-200 years from now at the latest. I think they could easily gain 6 acres, if they move all their offices off the point.

I think it would be great to have some off season events like bands, dances, Christmas in Frontierland, and whatever else they can come up with. To see all of the diehard fans here makes me realize that there may be quite a market for them to do it.
Yes, there was a "holiday" event back in '95 or '96 if I recall correctly. There was a horse drawn carriage, hot cocoa, the Merry-Go-Round was open, Christmas decor, etc. It was also a time to purchase season passes.
While people from Sandusky might have come over for it, there was a consensus that it wasn't worth the hassel and it was put to rest. I am not sure how many people would be willing to drive from Michigan, Cleveland, Columbus, etc in the winter to Sandusky if there wasn't something significant to draw them in. The on-point hotels are not equipped to be open during the winter.
It would take some doing. Now, if gambling ever became legal in Ohio then all bets are off...pardon the pun.

I have two questions about this article.
1. I've never been to Cedar Point, but I was under the impression that lines really weren't that bad relatively speaking, particularly when compared to Six Flags parks. The article says the WSJ ranked them dead last out of 14 parks they studied?
2. What's up with the guy who said that Ohio is "dead in the center of the US"? I mean sure the US is a little northeast heavy in population, but c'mon... :o) I actually am, more or less in the center of the US (Kansas) and Sandusky is a 13 hour drive just from here.
