Exit passes

I now have several of these exit passes to use. The policy seems very unclear to me, as to when & what rides will accept them. Can they be handed in at customer relations and traded(with a fee)towards a fast lane wristband? Also, a possible scenario:I enter (hand in exit pass)the exit gate to Top Thrill, get close to boarding, and the ride breaks down. We'll wait a bit to see if it begins operating soon. It doesn't open, get told ride will be down for unspecified amount of time. Will I be given the exit pass back to use elsewhere?

I highly doubt (highly) that anything like this could be exchanged for a FastLane, nor do I think there is any reason it should.

I would suggest a call to the park so they can give you details.

Does it say..."have a ride on us" on the passes? If so, you can ride whatever ride you want.

You can't trade them in for Fast Lane. You go up the exit ramp, hand the pass to a ride op, and they will put you wherever on the train. They will give you the pass back if a breakdown occurs.

Calls to the park have resulted in a typical "I don't know, hold on". Or a "please, can you call back tomorrow". LOL. I'm glad they are good for any ride & return back for ride malfunctions. Thanks !

Keep passing the fun along!

Why did you call the park? Don't you know that PointGuru is the real problem-solver? :)

I bet when they put you on hold, it was to consult with ThePointGuru, what else could it possibly be?

Jeez guys, I appreciate the flattery but as been previously pointed out, others on the site have also expressed disappointment with management decisions. In some cases management has actually reversed their policy or decision to reflect the view of those posters concerns. Of course management will never admit that those changes were made to address the concerns of a few people but I think we all know the truth. Thanks to all those posters who try to make the park a better place for everyone.

How'd you get "several" to use?

The first 2, were given to us(daughter & I) the day of the water-main break issue. The others came following a email to CP, stating my dislike on different issue.

No. No they didn't. Park management may have made policy changes or decisions that coincide with concerns of posters here on Pointbuzz. But to suggest they did so because of posts made here vastly overstates the importance of what we do here.

Good for you Janeen!!! :) I for one, would love to know more about your "dislike on a different issue". I am shocked; but, very pleased to hear it sounds like management stepped up to the plate and tried to resolve you issue. Did receiving the exit passes make up for your inconvenience on the other issue? Was your email sent to guest services or was it directed to someone in particular? It may help other posters in the future if they run into a similar situation.

Noggin, that is exactly what I said in my post. The fact is, you don't know why management makes screwy decisions or later reverses them either. That is your opinion. On the other hand, I am an optimist. More of a glass half full kind of guy. I prefer to believe information shared on this site can be used to benefit everyone. If that means management may occasionally read this site and learn the view points of multiple park fans at one time, then that is a bonus. ... and if that is the case, then us lowly villagers may play a small role in helping management make the park a better place for everyone.

^ Go away. It's not even funny anymore.

Does it occur to anyone that there may be non-management employees empowered to distribute things like exit passes as they review emails from concerned customers? I bet there are.

It's sounding more and more to me like there's a bitter party around here who might've been turned down for a Cedar Point management position at one time. Otherwise, I don't understand the hate, particularly for something that really doesn't affect any of our lives on a daily basis. It's obsessive, and has to be consuming and not very healthy.

Or- maybe there's a troll around here who stays up nights thinking of how to pull our chains. Janeen, keep that information to yourself, unless it's absolutely relevant to the conversation. Otherwise, none of us need to know your personal business.

I'd like to say with that I'm out, but the same S pops up in just about every thread around here. If anyone cares, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to justify my time participating in this forum due to this ass. If he's trying to drive people away from here he's succeeding.

Buzz... sorry RCMAC, wrong guess. I wouldn't want to work because of the poor and arrogant management and reasons given on another thread. No, I can say with near certainty that no "non-management" employees are empowered to give exit passes. If they are, it is because management delegated that ability to them and it can be taken away.

I have no hidden agenda. I love the park and have a great time every time I go; but, unfortunately myself and others experience poor customer service or unfriendly guest policies on virtually every visit. Management can do better. I am very happy for everyone who is perfectly happy with everything the way it is right now and who thinks management can do no wrong. Maybe, if management did a better job, I wouldn't have as much to comment on. When I do see something good management has done, I have complimented them numerous times. I also get the feeling some people don't like my post or always agree with me. Which, I think is good. I learn a lot from others on the site even if I don't agree with them. I also would just like to point out I have never once asked for someone to be banned and my post haven't been nearly as harsh as some directed at me. I wouldn't say I'm the one trying to drive people away from the site just because they have a view point I don't like.

Being critical is fine, but you continuously post like an arrogant douche who knows better, and you don't. The issue isn't disagreement, and it never has been. It's your tone.

And that's why we're done with you. Don't ever post here again.

And this is why this board has been good for a long time. An owner/moderator with a back bone willing to stand up to people who bring down the site. Kudos

Are you old enough PointGuru to remember the phrase "you sound like a stuck record"? Well, you sound like a stuck record. Your comments are repetitive, boring with the same grinding theme of "management can do better". It is really irritating to keep reading the same crap over and over no matter what the topic is.

Does management do everything right, for all guests, one hundred per cent of the time? Of course not. Is the park and resort well managed so as to provide good entertainment and memorable times for the majority of guests. Absolutely yes. Your constant nagging on the tired, old premise that management somehow is incompetent is untrue, unrealistic and unproductive to good discussion on this forum. No one takes you seriously and you are annoying beyond the point of providing comic relief.
