Exciting News...

A single rider line would be HEAVEN. (IMO) But i have to agree I think someone would find a way to exploit it!

I suspect the "entrance" on the right will be for employees to get from the station to the ride entrance. Although to throw some fuel on the fire, I remember hearing months ago that they were considering having a single rider line for this ride....

I really hope your right about the single rider line. I'm the only person in my family planning on riding Maverick on opening day so if there is a single rider line i will be VERY happy.

Yeah they could save a lot by filling up the single riders for those who are "unable to ride" because the seat belts wont fit.

For example, on Millennium Force, if it delays dispatch just 3 seconds or more per empty seat filled, it's not worth the time let alone effort. Single rider lines typically take longer to fill seats than it is worth.

TTD 120mph:

Does that include front row single rides or not?

Hu? Does what include front row single riders?

So I'm confused. If you have all of the singles in the same line, there wouldn't be any single spots to fill... right? It sounds like a good idea to increase the running rate, but I'm not sure how it would work.

Basically people in groups would wait in the regular queue. If when they fill up a train and theres an empty seat (say from a group with an odd number of people) then the ride ops would take a person from the single rider line and put them in that seat. Another empty seat comes and they take another person from the single rider line and fill that seat. It works the same way (and this happens all the time) when for any ride theres and empty seat and they call out in the queue for a single rider. Same thing except theres a seperate line for single riders only and it moves a LOT faster then the normal queue. The only negative thing about the single rider line is that you don't get to choose where you sit. You sit where ever theres an empty seat. Hope that helps. *** Edited 5/6/2007 5:31:58 PM UTC by rcoasterk22***

Go to Disney's Animal Kingdom and ride Expedition Everest. That station has a fastpass line, single rider line, and standby line. I've never seen more organized chaos on a station platform ever in my life. It's incredible how they manage to do it.

I'm still going with the announcement of project 2008!

It was Friday when T&T mentioned that by Wednesday they hoped to announce their "exciting news." I think that Cedar Point felt the Maverick announcement would be made by then and that the park would need something to boost interest, so rather than waiting until later in the season, they decided to release the information now.

I'm willing to bet cash money on it.

How much money? ;)

Let's Get Weird.

I highly doubt anyone at the park or online here would call Maverick being delayed "exciting news." And like others have mentioned this most likely isn't something they knew about for a while. On Friday I talked with some people at the park about media day and they didn't hint at it not happening. You don't print up and mail hundreds of invitations to an event knowing that you're going to cancel it.

Andrew, whose comment are you referring to? Cause I don't see any comment where your reply makes sense.

Yours. What I'm saying is it is highly unlikely the park knew about this last week. So they for sure weren't planning on annoucning this.

They could have told us it was going to be a 'bad' surprise. ;)
