Ex employees being asked to return for Halloweeken

I heard a rumor that Cedar Point is asking to see if any employee that has worked there in the past to come and help out during Halloweekends. I was wondering if this is true, and if it is Im all up for it as well as my boyfriend who is too. :)

You can always call Human Resources and see if they're accepting applications. Lots of people leave (back to school) especially after Labor Day. If you're on the "no re-hire list" (that is, you quit or got fired), you might have a problem, though.

I worked at CP in 2000, 2001 and 2002. I called last week to see if I could work a couple of weekends this year. I was told I would have to work at least 4 weekends. I could only promise two, so they said no. Every year I worked there, they were begging people to work even if for only one weekend. Maybe they don't need people that bad or maybe Bob just doesn't like me. I might call back in a week or so to see if the situation has changed.
CP need people? Gee what a total shocker.

There is some work involved on getting you "on the payroll". Maybe it just isn't worth it if you are only going to work X number of hours/days.

That is a good point which might be true, but I don't think that Bob is concerned with that aspect of it. I think he's more concerned with staffing. It's not like I have never worked there before. I don't have to go through orientation.

Ohh yes you do....

If you didn't work this year.. you do.. kinda being a stickler about it this current season.

If coming back to work required an orientation class with Peggy, then I don't think I would want to come back. For returning employees, those orientations were a waste of time. My first season, the orientation was worth sitting through. Unless they added some new rules, I don't think I would enjoy sitting through those videos again..."Pump Number!" I do wish I had a copy of that video to show people what we had to sit through. Listening to the Ride-Op, in one of the videos, tell an elderly woman to use some common sense after falling when trying to get off of the carousel was great.

I was told the same thing when I inquired about working a couple of bonus weekends. So I wouldn't take it too personally.
