EMT and Off-point questions

After doing a lot of research I have a few questions remaining about work at Cedar Point. I do apologize if these are answered elsewhere, but there is a lot of material here and I haven't managed to read it all yet.

Does anyone know anything about being an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) at Cedar Point? Anyone who has done this I would like to hear from you. I'm currently an experienced EMT-B and will be an EMT-I by the end of May. What's the job like at CP? How many hours do you work and what are the shifts like? Advantages, disadvantages? CP's website only lists EMT-B and EMT-P, but do any EMT-Is work there, and are they allowed to function as ALS or are they just treated as EMT-Bs? Again, any info is appreciated.

My second question involves housing. I am definitely not anti-social by any means, but I'm the kind of person that does need some time by myself daily. Obviously, this isn't really likely with any of CP's housing options. Does anyone know of any other seasonal housing available in the Sandusky area, preferrably close to CP? If you have stayed at any of these places, how were they? If you don't mind, how much were rent and fees?

Finally, I was curious as to who dispatches the emergency service personnel at CP? It would seem logical it would be a season position due to extreme call volume variances, but the job isn't listed? I'm also an experienced 911/police/fire/EMS dispatcher and would also be interested in doing that.

Again, any information at all is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help!!

I dont really know about anything youre talking about, but in terms of alone time with housing, I was in a full room of 4 people most of the summer, and I had plenty of alone time. The shifts vary so much, that the only time all 4 of us were in the room at the same time was like 4 am, when we were sleeping.

EMT's are dispatched via radio,CP has it's own 911 system which also dispatches it's police. I do know that the EMT's report to a registered nurse who is based in the first aid station behind the ballroom.

I'm relatively sure that dispatch is considered to be somewhat of a leadership position, so it may be difficult working your way right in the door there.

Any call for an EMT goes via a 911 call to CP Police. There dispatcher will raido out the call to saftey. You used to be able to apply as a dispatcher. I think now they just roate officers to do dispatch, I could be wrong on that though. Also, I am pretty sure that if you live in housing, you live with other Saftey employees in a Bayside apartment. EMT911, if you PM me, I will give you a few of my friends emails, there all EMT/Firefighters and can answer the rest of your questions.

I have been an EMT at Cedar Point for three years now. Send an e-mail to DTLarson@aol.com and I will answer your questions for you.
