Employment Question

Hey All,

I have a quick question about employment. I am interested in being a ride host in 2013, but I have never really had a real job before. I have plenty of leadership experience, but my jobs have always been officiating sports, which is under the table. I am really good at what I do, but I am not sure how this will affect my chances of getting a job. I guess I am just wondering what my best shot will be in order to get the job?

I was a ride host this year and I knew plenty of people who have never had jobs before. One person had only been a babysitter before. That was it!

I would say that on your application, make sure and put down that you have officiated sports. Technically, that could count as a job. Just make sure that your application is perfect and if you get an interview, explain your leadership roles and past experiences, etc. Good luck!!!

I personally think you'll be fine. Like the previous poster has said, for a lot of people, Cedar Point is their first job. Just make sure that you apply early and it can't hurt to make ride host your only selection on your application.

I think it has more to do with the way you fill out your application and answer the essay questions than your work history.

Yeah I had a problem with my app. It was a question that was unfinished and i called and talked to so many people and they wouldn't tell me what it was. Finally I called and someone told me it was a unfinished question and I wouldn't be hired unless it got fixed. She fixed it and I was hired shortly. So what I'm saying is READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY AND ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS FULLY.
