Employment 2k4 and cars.

So I'm deciding to switch from working at KP to working at CP. I own a car with insurance, etc. If I were to live up there (probably have to anyway) Am I allowed to keep my car there as well?
Hi :) A lot of people bring their cars to Cedar Point. Off-point housing has a huge parking lot that will accomodate everyone. Only thing is that when the park gets really busy there are parking bans, which means most employees aren't allowed to drive to work and have to take the bus. But bringing your car is perfectly fine and a good idea, since it will make it so much easier for you to get around.

Ok, I didn't know if I could keep it parked at residence. Good point about the bans...yeah, I always had no problems parking at KP for work, since if there was a ban I'd just go to the shopping center. I also lived like 5 min away from it anyway.
Hey a fellow Pittsburgher :) My cousin works at Kennywood, and I live 15 minutes from it. Have you ever been to CP before? It will be a big switch to work there, since CP is absolutely HUGE compared to KP and a lot stricter, but I loved CP, it is a beautiful park.

Keep in mind if you work at CP and bring your car you will be much better off living off-point, since the on-point housing does not really have much in the way of parking. But off-point housing is much nicer, anyway. The only real advantage to living on-point is being close to work, but if you have a car it isn't a big deal anyway, just a five minute ride over the causeway :)

Yeah, I go everyyear, nearly every month. I understand how big it is and strictness.

I live basically where I can see Kennywood from my window next to me.

Thing to keep in mind about the parking ban is that you can't really walk to CP and they won't let you bring your car so you are solely limited to the bus and thats it...along with everyone else.
Not everyone, supervisors and such are still allowed to drive in. It's a prime example of why you should do everything to get along with your sups. The free ride on parking ban days is nice.

I know I gave enough of them..

Red Garter Rob, don't know if you are still a Sup at CP but things have changed a little. Each area is given a certain number of passes to get through on parking ban days, and there aren't as many of them per area as there are Sups. Typically the sups do get them but not all the sups get them, so even a lot of the supervisors have to ride in.
I said "sups and such".. I know not all sups get them, and not everyone who does get them IS a sup.

My point is just that if you know someone who gets one, try and hitch a ride with them if you have such a problem with the bus. They do encourage us to carpool and give rides to those who don't have the passes on parking ban days, and I do that.
