Employees and Body Piercings

This time I searched first to see if anyone had comented on this. How strict is Cedar Point on body piercings when your in your working hours? I have no problem with taking mine all out while working, but just wondering if everyone follows that rule.
Yes they have to be out of public view (this includes tounge rings).

They are pretty strict. I've seen people get warnings for it, not do anything about it and end up getting fired.

i agree with rob...a lot may also depend on where you work...if you're in a position where you don't talk to too many guests who could report you, (e.g.housekeeping, maintenance, enviro. services) then you may be able to get away with it...but i wouldn't bet on it, especially from midseason to the end of the season when they start doing audits and will fire people for many stupid reasons (they do this to avoid paying bonuses...sucks, i know, but it's all part of the job)
Trust me they don't do it on purpose just to avoid paying the bonus, which i think your talking about. The reason so many people get fired near the end of the season is they do stupid things and forget to work off there points. And I know most people at the end of the year just stop caring and think they have made it this far so they just don't care anymore so especially on rides they get really rude and get more guest complaints. Thats why people get fired so much mid to the end of the season.

Now the rule on earring for girls is one per ear. Guys aren't allowed to have earrings. Now body piercings you can have them in as long as guest can't see them. Now I know your thinking hey tongue is ok then. Nope your not allowed to have that in while at work. And also spacers are NOT allowed.

For girls, it's two earring in the lower ear lobe, not one. You can't have a cartilidge piercing showing either. I know that some managers don't care as much as others about body piercings (mainly the tounge) showing. My first year, I wore my cartilidge piercing in a few times, but never got reprimanded for it. For the most part, I tried to take it out, but sometimes I forgot . Just abide by the rules and you won't get into trouble.

Environmental Services is pretty strict on grooming guidelines.. especially piercing. It suprised me that you would list them as a department that wouldn't talk to too many guests.. they have an extreme amount of guest contact and spend most of thier day answering questions, giving directions, etc.

Without Environmental Services Cedar Point would be a dirty park!

i worked at fridays on the beach and i had 1 ring on my right finger and i had to take it off and i was just a dishwasher. they are so strict

Nothing wrong with being strict, I have many ear piercings, including 4 on left ear and 6 on the right, including tragus. I also have both top and bottom navel. All can be taken out very easily. Before my starting date, I plan on getting more. None of my holes have been stretched, and are virtually invisible if taken out. But of course my current boss doesn't have any info in our handbook about bodily mods/piercings, so if he were to fire me; it would be descrimination. Sure I'll miss being able to wear them all during work, but I don't mind since I want the job. :)
They are really strict if they see it and you're being a idiot about it... Like if you are talking insane amounts to your sup and you've got a tongue ring then you will get in trouble for it, however if you make friends with them you might be able to get away with it for a day or two before they say anything... I would TRY to put mine in every night but would inevitably always forget for a day or two at a time. It eventually closed up so I just got it re-pierced after my contract was up. Some piercings just won't close period unless you leave them out for months at a time, however if you've just ripped your piercing half out like I did (mine was cartilage and it was like one or two months before I started at CP, and cartilage takes a good three to six months to heal fully) then it's going to close. You most likely can get away with a tongue spacer b/c it's kinda hard to see a tongue ring. I had a tendency to not talk that much after I got the hang of my job so I could have gotten away with it, but you might be different... You pretty much can't get away with any facial jewelry (although I am going to see what the spacers look like just in case you can't see them for real...)
I had a girl who came into first aid one day because she went to work, got caught with a tongue ring and she could not get it out. With her permission, I eventually used some forcepts like plyers to unscrew the ball.
