So I've been contacted by the park to schedule a Skype interview in January for an Internal Audit Intern position. If I do get the job, what happens to my 2019 Platinum Pass w/ All-Season Dining and Drink that has already been paid in full? Is my pass temporarily taken away from me completely, can I keep the card but my benefits are temporarily shut off, or can I keep my card and use all its benefits?
For the record, I do know that employee IDs act as a season pass at all Cedar Fair parks with free parking, but I was wondering if my Platinum Pass can still be used for passholder ride nights and if I can use my All-Season Dining benefits if I scan my pass in (since an intern rarely works open to close, this is a legitimate option for me).
I had my platinum pass with the meal and drink plans on it during the 2017 season. Like kpr66 said, you have to scan it at the gate if you want to use the benefits. I actually heard that it’s frowned upon to use it during work hours now. I don’t see what the big deal is considering you paid for it though.

Apparently it has been against the rules for employees to have a platinum pass AND the dining plan since its inception.
You can have the pass, just not the dining plan.
Word is that this season they are going to start enforcing that.

That’s a little extreme to do that to someone who purchased the pass and dining plan to get a more desired meal than what’s offered in the employee bistro. I would gladly take Panda Express over a sliver of meat, boxed potatoes, and a scoop of succotash. But that’s just me, and I guess rules are rules.
Or, perhaps make another bistro closer to the middle/back of the park so employees in area 2 and 3 (rides) can enjoy it too. I swear, I couldn’t eat at stockade every day.

You'd have to ask HR. They sent out the nastygram indicating the new rules enforcement.
I asked and was told that the reason has to do with "number of expected uses by the public" or something like that.
According to my lead, it has been a rule since they came up with the meal plan, they just have not been enforcing it.
I was going to do this this season, but I like my job enough to not risk being caught.
