I'm not sure if this is really allowed here, but I just wanna say hey to an employee that I interacted with on my last trip (or if he doesn't post here, maybe someone knows him).
I'm pretty sure his name was Brad, he worked Power Tower up till the 24th (friday) then switched to TTD (saturday), where he said he'll be for the rest of the season. I was a single rider for most of my trip due to family issues (read: they're wimps who don't ride) but I kept comin back to PT, it added somethin fun to my single day. Every run I saw him do a run, he'd joke around with the people riding, give fake countdowns (sometimes real) and such. He recognized me every time I came, said "hello yet again," commenting on my sunglasses tan line and stuff. He didn't get to talk and joke as much on TTD, but he seemed excited just to be working it.
If you post here, hiii! If not, he might remember me if some of you get to talk to him =P *** Edited 6/28/2005 4:04:11 AM UTC by GeeForce***

I certainly hope not. The CP higher ups have to realize that one of the things that makes/MADE CP so much fun was the interaction with Ride Ops who clearly enjoy their jobs and interacting in a friendly manner with the public. I know it's one of the things I've enjoyed for the nearly 40 years I've been going to CP.
The auto spiels took away some of that interaction, and now it seems it's getting to the point where an employee doesn't dare interact in any way without worrying about getting written up for it.
If they wish to turn Cedar Point into less of a fun, family Holiday World type park and more into a boring Six Flags experience, they are well on their way if they don't lighten up.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

B-Rad is awesome. But ratting him out for the 'countdowns' on here might get him in trouble.
How so? I didn't think I was "ratting him out" for anything.... =\

Yeah, I love employees that enjoy their job and joke around a little. it makes the whole experiance much more enjoyable.
Thrills Around the Corner!
For whatever reason, last year we were told we can't make fake or real countdowns because it might 'Frighten' a guest.
What if I want to be frightened? How come my feelings don't fall into this at all? I like the countdowns because they add to anticipation, so why don't I get to hear a countdown?
I don't know what that is, but its some form of -ism, and its not right for the park to do it.

Not allowing fake countdowns makes sense to me.
Well the way he did it wasn't to scare the riders, it was just to tease with them, in a joking tone. Anyone who's ridden with him or worked with him could back me up on this.
...Right?

Hey, I just met Brad today at the TTD entrance. I know that his screen name has the words "final countdown" in it.

Dude, it's me! That's so awesome, thanks for saying that. I remember you too, the second to last day i finnally met your family. SO yeah well they didn't tell us anything about not having fun with guests, or not trying to amp up the fun...Because fact is..Power Tower is not necessarily the most fun ride in the park. Look at our line.... SO it's very rare to get repeat riders or even have people enthusiastic about our ride. So when they come i react to it. They don't teach much about scared guests, it's all common sense. If you see someone frightened, you hold launch or down a tower. I love my job, and until i get a spiel violation, i'm having my fun. Thanks again guys! I hope you see you again.
