Hey I've got an interview tomorrow at Wild Water Kingdom for a lifeguard position, and while it's not CP, it's close enough. But anyway, does the employee ID get you into CP for the whole season? Like the whole CP season, and not just until WWK closes? I can ask tomorrow but I feel like that's just an odd question to ask at an interview because it might sound like that's the only reason I want the job which is not the case, but I've had platinum passes for the past 4 or 5 years and I don't wanna spend $200 if I don't have to. Any tips for an amusement park interview?
I'm kinda happy for him and sad at the same time that he went back to GL..
Loved working for him @ CP..great guy
I will say seeing him ride Windseeker though, one of my favorite moments ever of him, seeing him kick his legs around like a little kid hehe

Think so? Let me know how that works out for you in real life. I think you'll find your education, training, and self development will be your own responsibility.
I was just teasing Daniella, truthfully. Many pools and parks require certification before they'll hire you, but I know CP has a training and certification program for lifeguards. And there's different levels of competence, and the applicant is placed accordingly. The training might be considered rigorous to some, after all a CP lifeguard may be required to pull someone out of Lake Erie. And I'm sure there's some that are only trusted to sit at the top of a slide and give the go-ahead.

Chill, broski. This is a lifeguard job we're talking here. Not an executive position. Got it? Good.
2012: Gemini/Mean Streak
2013: Co-Team Leader of Gemini/Maverick on Halloweekends Fridays
2014: Ride Supervisor of Thunder Canyon/Skyride/GateKeeper on Halloweekends Fridays
2015: Ride Supervisor of Rougarou
I'm not officially hired and in the system yet, I just scheduled the lifeguard training and once I complete the three day thing they will hire me on the last day after I take the certification test etc, but I mean the two guys doing the interview said it looked really good and we got along great, so I guess it's like 90%, who knows I might hate it, unlikely but a slight chance.
But anyway I met Bill and he was super nice, I'm really looking forward to working for the company. I'm getting my degree in Hospitality Tourism/Lodging so I really wanna move up in Cedar Fair somehow.

Whoa, maybe I shoulda included my winky there. But I speak the truth, Mr. Got it Good. And I would trust a well-trained certified lifeguard with my safety before I'd trust anyone in an executive position. Don't undermine the importance.
And now I understand from Daniella's response the certification process goes ahead of the job offer, which is reassuring, and really, the only thing I was trying to ask.
And Daniella, good luck to you. You sound like a responsible young woman with goals beyond seasonal employment and that's commendable. What I would always tell the young people coming into the company I worked for is to put yourself out there and get to know as many people as you can no matter who they are. It can only help you in the long run. (not that you're asking for my advice, but here's a little anyway. :-) It sounds like you've already got that ball rolling.) I hope you get what you want and have a great summer.
