Employee Contract Questions

Ok, so I'm going to send in my employee contract tomorrow and I've been filling everything out but I have a few questions. It says to send in a copy of your birth certificate and social security card. I figured that I would just show those when I check-in. Has everyone else been sending them in? I guess it just doesn't seem very safe to send those copies through the mail, but maybe that's just me. Ok, that's all for now. Thanks everyone! :)

Don't worry about it, it's more of a way to help out HR before everyone processes in.

I don't understand why they ask you to send those in with your contract because even if you do, you still need to show one or the other when you process in. I didn't send a copy in with my contract last year and I didn't have any problems.

you probably still have to show them when u get there to verify... but they'll already have the tax form filled out, saving 30-60 seconds. Which could add up if you get there on a busy day and there are about 500 people in line to process in.

I just make sure that my copy of my birth certificate and Social Security card is the innermost document inside of all the other paperwork I have to send back to HR. That way, it's difficult to see that it's in there. I've never experienced a problem with sending such copies through the mail.

Don't worry about the mail. Screwing with it is a federal offense, you're much more likely to be ID thefted sending it over the internet. I got my card # stolen once and got charged for all of these porn sites... it was great when I was on the phone asking what sites they were for... alternative type stuff.

But anyhow, don't worry about sending it. And if you are, then just wait until you're physically there.
