You can live in the dorms when you are 17 if you have graduated from high school, or 18 and older otherwise.

You can get by just fine without a car, because they have buses that will take you back and forth to work, and to different spots in Sandusky.

You are eligible for a bonus as long as you fulfill your contract, no matter what your dates are.

Just because you work at CedarPoint doesn't mean you can get on rides with no waiting.  You still are supposed to wait in lines with the general public.  There is a discount book for different spots around town, but only a couple places on the point.  (At least this was the case a couiple years ago)

Christy, that was one of the best posts when it came to summarizing all the important points. :)

Another thing to consider, there are lots of people with cars and if you need to do something really important, they are usually nice enough to borrow it, provided it is close.

Happy Turkey :)

WAIT! Theres benefits? I didn't see em! Oh well. Wish me luck with a live E theatre tech postion interview....
I'd also like to point out that if you work for thirty days you receive 4 guest passes for your friends/family to visit the park.

You are also eligible for a discount on tickets (discounts depend on the price of tickets per year.)

You get unlimited access into the park and the water park, and, yes, you MUST stand in line. Just because you work there are no exceptions. No matter what you are always there for the guests, in, or out of, uniform.

There are also employee appreciation functions put on by the "big" people. They are a lot of fun and I recommend getting involved. Ride nights, Big Bash, trips, movie nights, and other types of functions. They are a great way to get to know people and to have fun.

Hope that helps a little bit! Good luck, and see you next season!

My son is thinking about working at CP in a couple of years. He can't live without the internet. Is high speed internet access available in the dorms?

No, there's no high speed internet access available in the dorms, resq.  They actually discourage internet use in the dorms, as it ties up the outgoing phone lines and there aren't many to spare.  There are a few dedicated phone lines for laptops and such in the employee rec center, and there are some of those ghetto internet machines that you can use for email and browsing purposes, but if he wants high speed access he's gonna have to get an apartment in Sandusky somewhere and get Roadrunner or something, cause it just is NOT happening in the dorms.

Our cable system here is in the 18th century. They have just announced the availability of cable modems, but you still have to have the phone line (meaning phone line speeds) for uploading. I'm fortunate to have DSL here, but I don't live in Sandusky. Most surrounding areas around here are Verizon. Sandusky is Ameritech and I've heard it's a pain to get DSL. Not sure though.

Ahhh, SBC Ameritech.  My friend works for them in sales in Cleveland.  He keeps telling me that it was a poor decision on his company's part (SBC).  He's ready to get out of there.  Any-whoo, I don't even think they offer DSL in Sandusky.  Not sure though, I think you can find out on http://www.ameritech.com

Well the way the poster was talking, it's gonna be a few years before her kid is old enough to work at CP anyway, and by then Sandusky may've at least caught up a little bit. :o)  Even MY hometown of New Castle has now...

shoot...I was happy enough to check my Email once a month there...and I refused to pay for it. Oh well..it's all about accepting the limitations of your surroundings.

Yeah The Benefits are not all that great but you meet a lot of cool people, make a lot of friends and hopefully find a playmate.

Can't wait to see my peeps again next year.

I have come to kick*****Sleep till noon.

I'm applying at both Valleyfair and Cedar Point.  Does CP offer Cedar Point Season Passes as a benefit?  For instance if I worked at CP could I get into Worlds of Fun for free?
Not really a season pass, but your employee ID will admit you to other Cedar Fair parks.  Just visit the respective park's Guest Services office with your ID.
