ejector seat

OK! But what if some ham-n-egger wanted to argue that the front goes faster over the hill because the back is pushing it over ;)
Duane, you're missing something important.

The 'faster over the top of the hill' argument is a legitimate one, and in fact that is the reason seat 1.3 is the ejector seat.

For the first and second drops, you will most certainly have the best experience in the back of the train. In fact, the front of the train is more than a little lackluster for the first and second drops as you wait for the back end of the train to crest the hill.

But for the smaller hills, particularly the last three on the return side, the front of the train goes over the peak of the hill at approximately the same moment that the train's center of mass reaches the valley. In other words, when the train's speed peaks in the valley, the front of the train goes sailing over the top of the next hill. When the center of the train goes over the hill peak, the train is moving its slowest over the hill, and by the time the back end goes over, the train is beginning to pick up speed again...but because of the shape of the hills, is not necessarily going as fast as the front end was.

So, Superstew, that's almost but not quite the exact argument! :)

Yeah Dave, I know... BUT I was having a little fun and following UC's lead on trying to convince folks to go to the back of the train (leaving a shorter wait for 1.3, you big spoil sport! :) )

Thought that my sig on that post might give away the wink and the nudge, but maybe I was just a bit too subtle this time for my own good.

Unwilling to rest on my laurels.
Its simply the best seat in the entire park. I would have to guess that close to 75% of my rides have been in that seat.

Whats that big blue thing with the long line?
Al I can say is black trains' 1-3 Left seat lap bar has a problem with going down the correct notch on me, and that is a good thing.

How about this thought
Millennium Force is my favorite ride because it keeps Magnum's line down. ;)

yah i have heard about the ejector seat so i tried it yesterday. and it def. lived up to all the talk. so much airtime over the bunny hops at the end.

Here Come the Irish!

Looks like 7 years later the ejector seat is still going strong.. ;)

To me, Maggie just seems more angry than Superman.

Well, wouldn't you be if you had all those #&@*(^ mayflies etc. all over you in the spring/early summer and late fall weather?????

And been bumped to third tallest by a yellow lemon and a big blue swoosh???? ;-)

Some people merely follow their dreams. Others hunt them down and mercilessly beat them into submission.

I am not too sure on this one. I like the violent airtime that 1-3 provides on the way back(especially trimless!), but the drop in the back row is just amazing. I guess I will just have to ride both, which isnt hard to do early in the morning.

I'll be riding the ejector seat, which is THE best seat in the park,Tuesday - Friday this week. My plane leaves tomorrow at 4:00AM! I'm going to Millennium Force via the marina entrance on Tuesday as early as possible, so if you're there, I'll say hi to you. God Bless! :)

1-3 is an urban legend, like that story about the two kids who go out parking and hear the story of the killer with a hook instead of a hand and then they drive off and later they find out that 1-3 isn't even a good seat on Magnum (take a breath now).

I heard that story but I heard the guy had a hook on his foot.

For those of you that don't get that reference check out the classic Bill Murray film Meatballs.

Ejector seat.......I always ride 1-2 because it is usually a walk on because it is obscured by the line for 1-1. I love listening to the riders in the seat behind me screaming "my leg"..."this sucks"...."I think this isn't safe!".

Ejector is good if you can manage the lapbar. It tends to rachet down on me going back to the station and becomes very uncomfortable. Ejector is not urban legend. It is very true. The reason it kills your thighs is because of the massive airtime as you are popped out of your seat over and over. You get momentum as the rest of the train is hitting the valley of the bunny hill.

Try it! Just remember I will be in front of you saying "I told you so!"

My favorite seat is 2nd to last car and last row. Good times.

Let's Get Weird.

For me, it's usually 1-2, for the shortest line in the station.

Which is the ejector seat on MF?

For the entire ride, I'd recommend 5-1 (fifth car, first row).... For the first drop alone, the back row gives the best ejector air.

Millennium Force has no ejector air. Very long floater air, sure, but nothing with the force of Magnum.

I'm a fan of car 6, row 1 on Magnum. You get the airtime off the firstthree big hills and you get to feel the speed burst coming off theturnaround that I haven't felt sitting more towards the front of thetrain. And you still fly out of your seat on the last half of the ridealthough I think every seat on Magnum has that quality. :-)

^Not to mention the fact that your knees dont bang into the row in front of you if your tall. Also, if you look at it, its the same distance from midline of the ejector seat so in a perfect world it would give exactly the same amount of air as the ejector seat (except giving it after you crest on your way down instead of as you begin to crest.) Of course its not a perfect world, but for my money thats my favorite seat as well.
